^Jep agreed. I think The Wolverine was completely fine to keep. All the bad stuff in it has no impact on the x-verse as a whole.

And the difference between Origins and X3 is gargantuan, although X3 got rebooted within the story, Origins gets flat out ignored in every way (not that there's much to do with that...****). Also characters from X3 are kept, even after the rebooted timeline.

Honestly you couldn't show X1, X2, FC and DoFP to someone who doesn't know X3, they'd miss pretty heavy information. Especially if you add The Wolverine to it. The Bone claws is actually just a simple reveal in the Wolverine. Origins we can completely, fully forget. And I'm fully convinced thats what they're gonna do.

Maybe I'll actually be able to enjoy X3 MORE, knowing the bad stuff is gonna get changed later on anyway. I only have X2 currently, I might buy a whole set of all five X-men films when DoFP comes out. Would look pretty damn cool.

I didn't like X3. I hated Origins. I loved T2. Argument makes no sense, Khev.

No worse than your argument that "any live-action Wolverine film post-2009 with bone claws is an extension of Origins." Nonsense. Bone claws have been comic canon for over 20 years. Its just part of the his source material and not "owned" by any one theatrical release. "But X1 and X2 didn't allow for bone claws." Correct. But Origins didn't care. And now DOFP didn't care either. That doesn't mean that DOFP is a continuation of Origins, it only means that Singer made the same creative contradiction of his own films that the director of Origins did. And that's it.

The idea that Singer was more concerned with referencing Origins than keeping continuity with his first two films is silly. If Origins didn't exist he would have been faced with either having Logan with NO claws for 90% of the movie or just borrow the same idea from the comics that Origins did. He obviously chose the latter when trying to decide the best way to present Logan in DOFP.

He kept the bone claws because they were in The Wolverine (2013) very clearly and clearly it's silly to throw away the Wolverine's character development of Logan JUST to negate bone claws.

This actually shows how much Singer tried to respect whatever he could that was solid for the characters involved. Over smaller original choices of his own.

@Jye Kinberg said it's just simply assuming magneto found adamantium or other metal to slap back on there. It was so simple to think of your own that they didn't waste time on it forcing a mention of it in DoFP.

And they reason they did put the metal back on, I'm sure, is so he could slice Kitty.:lol As that's actually quite a heavy plot development. Kinberg said the reaosn Rogue was cut because they initially wanted the old Xavier and Magneto to have a rescue trip for rogue to take over from kitty. But from a story POV that would've taken the tension away from the last act, so Rogue became useless. The scene became them rescuing rogue but failing.

And that scene WILL be featured on the dvd release. Obsolete as it is.

Also, for those still wondering, Xavier transferred his consciousness into some comatose body he knew off and uses his mental powers to project an image of himself as his old self into everyone around him. A simple feat for the experienced Xavier. He might actually not be in a wheelchair at all in reality. But we see him as such.:lol

Agreed, Origins is more like a horrible one-shot now, everything else was canon to DOFP and only Logan and Professor X have any idea about what happened in that timeline.

:lol :lol :lol

Magneto drops a stadium around 3 mile island.

President Jimmy Carter has Trask build Sentinels in the image of giant peanuts.

Bee Gees soundtrack.

Sabretooth and Logan at a Prince concert, having some quality bro-time.

I hope McAvoy goes bald next film, he kinda looks like the 90s TAS Xavier:

I just heard Vaughn was supposed to direct X3 but left over creative difference. Man, I kinda wanna see the script Vaughn had in mind for X3.

Yup, Fox were trying to rush the movie into production, Vaughn didn’t want to make a turd of a movie, so he left.
