Just saw the movie. It was great! The only question I have is about Wolverine gong back in time. When he went back to 73 the Vietnam war was still going on and according to the first Wolverine movie Logan and victor was in the Vietnam war together so why wasn't he there in this movie?

So does this mean he wiped out that horrible pile of **** Wolverine Origins movie from Vietnam on ? :yess:

All the other movies don't count, it's FC and DOFP now.

Which brings me to another question. I thought Logan and Victor was in the service during the whole Bay of Pigs time. Then how did he meet Charles and Magneto in a bar? According to the movie everything from 73 and after had been changed while all the events before remained the same. For all we know wolverine might never of ever gotten the metal bones and claws at all.

He could have returned from Vietnam prior to 1973.

True, but after Vietnam he was in the stockade and shot for defending Victor after he killed another soldier then he was found by Stryker who recruited him for that Mutant hit squad. Time travel is always confusing. Personally I just prefer to think that Logan was transported to an alternate reality where he changed their future to a different reality than the one he left originally.

No reason to believe that they didn't end up in Nam together after he was protecting the mobsters daughter in 73. As you said, the war was still going on, so the events of Victor and Logan together in the war could still make sense.

As to why we don't see Victor in this movie, I'm not sure why we would. They weren't conjoined twins, so there's no reason we'd have seen him in the bedroom with the mobsters, and once Logan was back his goal was pretty straight forward - get to Magneto and Xavier and stop Mystique. There wasn't any time for a quick Starbucks stop with his brother. The only reason he reached out to Quicksilver was for a specific need, so reaching out to his brother wasn't something that made a lot of sense in the context of what he was trying to do.

Yup, Origins obviously was the only movie that got no reference, and was the only movie they didn't try to tie in with DOFP.

Didn't they show flashbacks to it when Logan first saw Stryker?

That was Logan's mind from the future, not his mind from the 1970's. He just took over his younger body not mind so he will remember his timeline but when he wakes up that's a new time line......

Ok, that's enough talk about past, present and future. I'm getting a headache. The film was cool, and I enjoyed it. In my top 3 marvel comics film after avengers and winter soldier.

DoFP's entry in my top 10 actually pushed Avengers out of it.:lol Winter Soldier is the only marvel studios film that remains in my top 10 and after a small adjustment, it is actually 10th now so how long it'll be in there remains very uncertain with the movies that are upcoming.

Singer really outclassed every single marvel based film for me except his own X2. Really can't believe it, a few months ago I thought DoFP was going to be the painful bomb of the summer, and ASM2 the biggest hit surprise. Well, didn't that get turned upside down...:lol

It's definitely up there for me at the moment. I will have to watch it again on DVD to make sure, but DOFP may be my top live action comic movie at this point, edging out X2 and Batman Begins. I was also a bit put off with the costumes, but Singer proved they aren't very important when you make a great movie.

Honestly the sole reason for me X2 edges DoFP out is wolverine + it being 11 years older and still holding up just as well (seriously, X2 could be made now and not stick out that much). There's just no good wolverine action in DoFP and the way was made pretty damn clear for the film.

DoFP wasn't revolutionary to me, which X2, BB and TDK were. But it delivered at the top of the genre's game.

It's fifth in my top 10 now, but kinda tied for different reasons with the nr 6. It edged out TDKR though for critically being the better film, which is despite its flaws still 7.

8 of my top 10 entries are now shared among three directors.:lol

Wolvie had that little spat with the gangsters when he woke up, but apart from that I think you're right. He didn't fight the Sentinels in the future, he couldn't fight because of the acid flashbacks when he saw Stryker as they tried to stop Mystique, and Magneto kicked his ass when he tried to attack at the end. Not a huge issue for me, though.
