So, do I have Bryan Singer to thank for the lingering wolverine butt shot?

Nope, that would Be Hugh Jackman. He said he wanted to go full nude for that shot, because he doesn’t see Wolverine as someone who would wear underwear to sleep or something like that.

Riiiiiiiiiiight.... :rotfl

They could have established that fact without the extra fiveish seconds.

Pturtle's actually right here, and I've seen Hugh's interview where he says that. He may be a great actor, but he's also a very sincere guy I'd say, I'm sure Singer had little objection to it, but I believe completely that that's Hugh who wants to stay faithful to the character he plays as much as he can.

And come one, he's ****ing right too. I HATE the 'people who just banged wake up clothed' trope. Ridiculous american prudishness.

Hey, we can't show blood when Wolverine kills, but here's his ass. :lol

Could you imagine how awesome that would've been had they just had blood spatter on Logan's face in that close up when he kills the one mobster off-screen? I believe it was right after this one:

Hugh Jackman and Henry Cavill are in a ripped-actor-league of their own (excluding actual body builders and wrestlers). ****ing ridiculous.

Also, I just wanna admit that Singer kinda blew me away with how much the future sentinels/world creeped me out. And the fact that they eventually all die, every time, ****ing creeps me out man. It's arguably worse than a future like skynet's, they literally can't beat them unless they hop back in time, just to eventually, inevitably get slaughtered again, and again, and again. Holy ****. Seeing those cold blocks full of sentinels just float through the sky... ****ing haunting image man.

Kudos to Singer for getting it this dark.

Also, that arena man, that arena is so sick. I'm kinda growing tired of magneto as the villain, but man am I glad that Singer topped the bridge from X3.

Can't wait for Apocalypse man. Hopefully we'll get to see even more brutal displays of power by Fassneto, but against the enemy.

I don't even care, I think Jackman's the beastliest of any of them. Cavill and the Marvel guys have that comic book thing going, with the slender midsection and the massive upper body, but Jackman's just like...damn. If I ever met him I'd probably be like "teach me your ways.":lol

^That's true, Jackman's got a maybe a less 'sculpted' look, and more just genuinely what a guy that strong would look like.

Btw, I'm not sure if we're still doing spoiler tags, but at the end of the film, the last person we see. They did something with that person, we all know what, and am I the only one who doesn't like that? Like... I wish it just was what it initially seems like.

Now I don't get where they're going with it tbh...

I think Whedon and Singer are roughly equals in the directorial department. But in different ways. Singer doesn't wear humor on his sleeve the way Whedon does, but can do some really fun and funny stuff, like Quicksilver. And Whedon is more sentimental and heartfelt, which you really got watching Firefly/Serenity IMO, but also things like Coulson in Avengers. That has its charms, but isn't for everyone. I think Singer is more straightforward, and probably better at serious drama, going back to his earliest stuff like Usual Suspect, Apt Pupil, and even Superman Returns. In the action department I think it's about even. Neither is a master of film, but both are quite good at what they do IMO, and both seem pretty well suited for the teams they are currently focused on.

In what sense? Scale? Or as a movie event? In terms of the former, we don't have almost anything to go on yet, so I couldn't make a guess. In terms of the latter, you're probably right. They will promote the **** out of Avengers 2, I have no doubt.

In everything! :lol

:exactly:

A bit off topic, but regarding Skynet, the post apocalyptic future of DoFP looked far more accurate to how I've always imagined the future in the terminator series to look than it did in Salvation.

The very atmospheric dark blues, greys and blacks, the skeletons scattered on the ground, the prisoners being moved through the cages to eventually be disposed of, etc.

If we never going to see Jackman wear this I'm going to strangle a unicorn.

The only thing Marvel can do for me to rival Superman meeting Batman on screen, is a cinema Wolverine with this (type of) mask.

Better shot:

X-Men: Days of Future Past will fall short of its franchise record.

X-Men: Days of Future Past opened over Memorial Day weekend and earned $152.7 million through its first nine days. It's already the highest-grossing X-Men movie on a worldwide basis, and it's on track to wind up in second at the domestic box office with over $220 million. It's wrong to call that domestic figure a disappointment, but it's also tough to call it a win considering the excitement surrounding the combined casts and the addition of 3D ticket prices.

I loved the movie but I went back and reread DOFP and I am amazed how different the book and movie are. No bishop in the book either? Surprised to see Wolverines fate. Im also a bit surprise that they jumped into this film wothout a franklin richards or Rachel summers being introduced or even close to it. But hey I cant complain I loved the film.

Apocalypse. Is he a match at all for Phoenix?

it's questionable. Apocalpyse is infused from head to foot with technology and power derived from the celestials. He's borderline a cosmic power himself, and was charged, by the celestials to be the gaurdian of evolution of Earth.

it's not their fault he turned into a evil **** to do what they asked of him.

Watched it again. That kid is definitely not Cable. They showed him at the end too in the Manson. Only the front of his hair was white and he has a mutated face
