I've never really cared for many of the official X-Men posters over the course of the franchise. I did like a couple of the XFC international ones (the US ones were terrible, IMO). I have the "Before he was Magneto he was Erik" one, with Erik standing in front of the camp and the reflection of Magneto in the rain water in front of him. But that's the only X-Men one I have. Don't really like any from DOFP.

I'm with you for the most part. In fact, I haven't cared much for Marvel movie posters in general. The first one that really sort of knocked my socks off was Winter Soldier. The Photoshopped mess of the Avengers posters are better left forgotten. I do think the primary DOFP one is pretty good, though.

Apparently, fox makes zero dollars from merch from the x-films. That all goes to marvel. And marvel doesn't wanna promote Fox's film. This might be what happened to the hot toys figures too.

The Mondo prints are better than the studio attempts...except Winter Soldier

Yeah, because actual artists typically do the Mondo stuff, while studio execs seem to be making decisions on official film posters half the time, with how crappy they often come out.

@Lerath666 Wow, that's damn crappy man. I'm inclined to say I'm on the side of Fox in that situation. I mean, Fox does put all their recourses in creating these films so they should get a share of mercy based on it. But there you are, marvel is all about the fans right? Until money gets in the way.

I'm not really impressed with posters anymore usually, but the kind of standard official DOFP one, the one I linked anyway, I do like that one enough to consider putting that one up.

Also annoying how they changed the standard poster measurements from what they were years ago, all my posters from before 2009-ish fall inbetween A1 and A0, bugs me out.

Anyway, thanks for the links/effort Kara!

Who steals a grammatically incorrect title? Honestly...

Yeah, I don't usually like the random/awkward placing of characters that some of the official posters go with. The DOFP with Wolverine and Mystique is a perfect example of what I don't like: characters floating weirdly with no pattern. The main one sheets for Thor 2 and the Iron Man movies are like that, too. Usually the teasers or the single character posters are better to me.

I actually do like the main Avengers one sheet. Even though I don't really like the movie that much Iron Man 3 had a couple of neat posters (I have the one of Tony kneeling on a piece of debris with all the armors around him in the sky). The Winter Soldier ones have all been really, really awesome. I only have a Bucky one right now, but there are at least 3 others I want to get.

I've always been a poster freak. I've had so many movie posters over the years it's insane. But I still manage to be as picky as possible. :lol

I like the screen print style one for The Wolverine but yeah the majority of modern posters suck balls.

I still can't get over the fact that this wolverine has no action scene in DOFP

Also, whats you some of you guys favorite movie posters of all time?

I know it's cliche to say it, but to me the main The Dark Knight poster is genuinely one of the best. Due to it's perfected simplicity I think. As well as the brilliant colour contrast, and the perfect pose for that specific Batman. Dunno, that poster is perfect to me. Even though I remember being bummed out the Joker never lid up a building that way in the film itself.

Not really all that Crappy. Fox gets the box office proceedes and money from the DVD sales. and they get to keep the film liscense for pretty much forever. they NEVER expire so long as tehy keep making movies. Marvel gets 100% of the merchandising rights. that was the deal, and back when marvel bought those rights, they Agreed to it. the whole point was to use this to get marvel out of bankruptcy in the 90's.

When we asked for less Wolverine, that's not what we meant! That wasn't part of the deal Singer! THAT WASN'T PARRRRRRRRRRRRRT!

It's really tough to choose a favorite movie poster, but this is one of mine:

:hi5:

+1

..the original, although my all time favorite is the Neytiri variant, on the same theme:

..I'm still trying to track down the Japanese variant of the poster.. because it does not have the: 'from the director of Titanic' strap-line across the top in English.. in fact the japanese lettering just works extremely well with the image.

I like this alot too:

Wait!.. this is a major derail, someone set up a movie poster thread, so we can move these posts across! :)
