As a (big) fan of this film, I hope Singer stays on board for the sake of the sequel. If it gets Ratnerized, I'll probably throw a beer bottle at the wall and sob in the corner for awhile. But I am sure more accusations would pop up a couple weeks before Apocalypse from guys looking for a nice, convenient pay day. Hard to fault Fox's thinking on this one, and Singer may well have brought some of it onto himself for, apparently going after youngish guys. And of course, for being gay. He should have known better. If these were underaged, possibly even dead female prostitutes, no one would blink an eye.

Fox to Singer,

"Have you ever tried not being a gay?"

While promoting his film, 22 Jump Street, star Channing Tatum took a minute to speak with Latino Review about his upcoming role as Gambit in X-Men: Apocalypse and possibly a standalone film. While not revealing any further details about the status of his contract negotiations, he does touch on learning Gambit's trademark Cajun accent. He promises to have a serious Cajun accent, and hopes to incorporate a creole patois, which he likens to a "Jedi mind trick" and says might require subtitles. Check him out in the video below:

Channing is cool, I genuinely like that guy as far as I can "genuinely like" someone I completely don't know.

If Gambit will suck it ain't gonna be his fault, I dare say.

His constant emphasis on the accent makes me less and less worried. I think he's going to be a great Gambit.

The idea that he's trying a Cajun accent actually makes me more worried. But then, I know what a legit Cajun accent sounds like, and 99% of the people who will see this movie won't and won't care to investigate the issue, so I guess it doesn't matter much in the grand scheme of things.

@Kara he did joke they'd need subtitles.:lol

People should differentiate between an accent and a dialect though. Arnold Schwarzenegger has an accent. Using completely uncommon terms etc, that's a dialect. If he goes for a cajun accent, as opposed to the actual dialect, it should be cool. The way the 90s tas did it, seems obvious to me.
