Stan Lee tweeted yesterday that he wasn't in it because it filmed over seas for a large chunck and whe they were in the states he couldn't be there.

With what they can do with special effects now, they couldn't work him in somewhere?

I assume he either doesn't or just couldn't. His tweets read:

"Tis pleased I am that so many of ye regret my lack of cameo in X-Men First Class, and thou canst not comprehend such a grievous omission
Twas done because of thee! X-Men First Class was filmed overseas and thy beloved Generalissimo could not desert his troops for so long. "

is he trying to be all Shakespearian? What is up with all this "Tis and canst" ?

Ugh, the same questions asked over and over despite being answered 50 times within this same thread some even before was released. I'm tapping out, this film was fantastic but I'm done with this thread.

I haven't been following this thread but for a few posts here and there, and I appreciate the knowledge you bring to this and other threads Mike, but some of us don't have the time to follow a thread in its entirety, or go through 85 pages. Perhaps you can go back and edit the first post to compile a FAQ on this movie? :dunno

Not much too add other than what has already been said. A little unfair to compare films from years ago to a current one, but I'll echo others and say X-Men: First Class is the best of the X films and one of the best Marvel comic films to date.

Fassbender was phenomenal. The level of humanity and emotion he brought to Magneto was incredible (loved the scene where Charles reminded Erik of the repressed memory of his mother).

They should make more films with McAvoy and Fassbender as Professor X and Magneto, but they shouldn't shoe horn themselves into a trilogy. Just make films that fit into continuity before X1.

Hopefully Green Lantern and Captain America can pull an X-Men: First Class and exceed my low expectations because, oh man oh man are they low.

Saw it today. Pleasantly surprised. 8/10.

Yes they do! They have to work Hugh in it somehow.

:D

The movie was better without him. Love Hugh, but i'm sick of Wolverine The Movie: Featuring The X-Men.

Magneto was a far more interesting character. I felt more for him in those 2 hours, then I did for Wolverine in all three movies. :dunno

I felt more for Magneto too.

And this is coming from someone who loved Jackman's Wolverine in the first two movies.

But when you have an actor like Fassbender playing a character like Magneto, you don't need Wolverine in any FC sequel.

I mean, the guy watched (kinda) his mother get shot in the face, while being FORCED to use his powers, and be expeimented on....it's sad really. He was broken from then on.

What I love about it is when he finally gets revenge, a part of you is going "YES ERIK! YES!" and at the same time you're going "NO ERIK!".

He pulled it off so damn well.

I am illegally downloading a decent copy of this now. ( i have fallen on hard times and can't really afford to take the family to the movies, and i'm not a SUPER fan. I only goto movies really for must see's and this is not one of them) So the reviews have generally been positive, and if i like what i see, i will see it properly in the theater in time.

I wouldn't be posting that if I were you.
