None of you had to or have to buy the system. So what if you didn't like the product? Move along and stick with the PS4. Those who aren't Gamestop goons and believe people deserve to be paid for their work could have had something different as an option. I guess if this had been an Apple game system you all would have preordered 2 and stood in line for a week just in case your preorders didn't come through. Entitled.

I haven't bought the system. I have a 360 and prefer MS to Sony but since MS came out and acted like a douche they won't get my money right off. Now, since they've made changes since then I will buy it but only because they made the changes that needed to be made. As far as people getting paid for their work they did when I bought the game. After that its mine to do with what I want. Nothing entitled about it.

Who's getting paid for their work when you buy a used game from Gamestop?

Gamestop is. No different than if I go buy a used card. GM, Ford, Dodge, etc aren't getting paid for it a second time. The workers and the company already did once.

Gamestop? Trick question? I assume you're against used games? Are you also against used anything else? What you do with your property is your business and I think it should stay that way. Eventually used gaming will be gone. I see no need to rush to it.

I'm not against used everything. I wouldn't personally ever buy anything used, but I am against the Gamestop business model and think consoles should have adopted the Steam model by now. This I just another set back.

I get that. Everyone seems to be against Gamestop. Used games are a lot bigger than Gamestop though. Its an issue of ownership with me. How much can anyone truly own a digital file? If a company has total control over how, when and where you can play a game, do you own actually own it? If you can't sell, trade or lend it, is it even yours? When I buy something, I like to know that I own it. Pretty soon, that will be gone and that's sad to me.

I don't have a problem with reselling games as an individual transaction. My problem is with setting up a shop that puts a used game right next to a new game for $5 cheaper. If someone was to go into Best Buy and stand next to Uncharted and a customer comes in to buy the game and you sell them yours for $5 cheaper I'd have a problem with the individual transaction as well. All this is off topic though. My original point is still the same. We could have had two different options for consoles and there was absolutely no reason for a lynching to take place. People could have just bought a PS4 and let Microsoft fail or succeed with the product they were going to offer. Now we get the same console with a different name on it.

TBH, I don't see your preferred scenario being good for anyone or gaming as a whole. For me personally, I had every intention of buying a One until I saw what they had in mind for it. I don't see it as a choice I made as much as MS forcing my hand to go exclusively with a PS4. Plus, if most people did the same as I would have and not bought a One, MS would've been screwed and that could've led to them getting out of the console market. Not good.

It's all assumption now. We'll never know. It could have come out and been the next big thing once people saw it wasn't as bad as their shepherd's were leading them to believe. No one predicted the Wii's success but it found a niche market and took off. The One could have done the same for more mature gamers and home entertainment enthusiasts.

True. A moot point. Speaking of assumptions, why do you insist on calling everyone who had a problem with the One sheep? A bit insulting don't you think? A fairly broad generalization for a large group of people you don't know personally. It's very possible that the gaming press and gamers at large were simply thinking the same thing.

The average age of gamers was 37. Yes, more mature.

Where did you find that number? It seems...off.

Anyways, you're comment seemed to be suggesting that mature gamers would be more inclined to buy a One, implying that PS4 gamers...aren't perhaps? There seems to be a nice layer of condescension in your posts for some reason. Maybe I'm wrong.

Hehe, yeah that's a good one.

Such a snotty egotistical way of putting it.

Well I'm 32 so I figure I'm a "mature" gamer and if MS had come out of the gate with how things are now I'd be getting it day 1. I didn't need to be lead around like sheep and am quite capable of making up my own mind. MS made a play and it didn't work out. You're one of maybe a couple that I've seen that thought this was a good idea.

They're sheep because there was literally no reason for their response. They could have said, it's not the console for me and moved on. The PS4 existed, make that choice. What did they do though? They joined a mob of game bloggers (these people aren't writers) who continued to cry and scream and kick and throw fits because it wasn't what THEY wanted. For what though? Buy a PS4, what does it matter if you're not interested in the product? Back when Apple first started all their DRM, if the industry had reacted in a similar fashion, these are the people that would be posting their outrage on these forums now from Droid phones instead of iPhones. Now could people have been pissed about it and not be sheep? Sure, but those people saw the specs, said I'm not interested, and didn't buy it. But again, why would it piss anyone off in the first place? There is another option available. Pick it.

Where did you find that number? It seems...off.

I don't know how to say this without sounding condescending, but mature has several definitions. Perhaps you're applying the wrong one.

It would apparently depend on what manner he meant "mature". Both cryptic and condescending. Good stuff.
