I guess there's no point in debating the use of words like "sheep" or mature. If that's the way you feel, so be it. In this case, I believe people came to a similar conclusion and being the internet, it was a loud response. You prefer your outcries to be quiet, but they're usually noisy. People like to complain and more importantly, share their complaints with others. Sometimes, the majority finds themselves walking in the same direction.

Realistically, the policies that they originally had would have been fine for the vast majority of people. I think they needed to be changed but they didn't need to take it so far. There's some things they could have done to improve over the old ways of doing things without making things crappy like they were planning to do.

For a moment, I thought we were going to be treated to youre idea again hehe. I agree.

You can't really debate the meaning of a word like mature if you haven't applied it properly. It means what it means. There's nothing cryptic about it.

Maybe I don't know what "cryptic" means, cause that sounded cryptic too.

If I applied it wrong, feel free to explain.

Lets make this easy...

Older

Gotcha. So Xbox players are older, not more mature. Not sure what you're basing that on or why old gamers wouldn't have any problems with the policies MS wanted to go with, but no biggie.

Anyways, a price drop and MS is back on track. Not sure that'll happen with Kinect being bundled with it though.

lol I'm pulling back

I wonder though, at the gamescom conference if maybe they will be changing their policy again

At this point, anything seems to be possible. MS is running out of time fast though. They're going to have to make some concrete decisions ASAP.

In the context of my statement where I use the word mature. I'm talking about the Wii finding a niche market. I was using the more mature (the older) gamers who were looking to use it for something more than just gaming or for home entertainment enthusiasts. I was tossing out examples of a niche it could have found. Like I said though. We'll never know.

See, I understood that just fine and it didn't sound condescending. I suppose that was possible, but as you say...

MS will probably take another crack at this a couple years down the road. Slower and less stupid next time I'd imagine. We may still see if that theory is right.

I don't mind that it's bigger, as long as it runs cooler.

If this thing is already being boxed up and being stocked, awaiting ship date, then final specs are done. Which means, since E3, it got a GPU speed boost and a mono-headset.

I would have gladly taken a $100 price cut over that mono-headset.
But we'll see. There's still time for Micro$oft to do that.

I still don't get this "day one" stuff. They've never done anything like that before and I'm still not sure why they did it this time. Other than calling it "day one" what's the difference from the "regular" version I'll have?

"Day One" version indicates that you'll get it the day it is released whereas the regular will be shipped to you when the next batch arrives to the retailer. Think of the regular like a waitlist.

Also, the controller has Day One printed on it

They Day one will include special edition controller, and Garuntee you to receive it on Launch day. Also when you boot up the console you will get the launch day acheivement. Some people who love points and acheivements see this as a reason to buy the console. There are a few other minor things but those are the biggest in my book.

It's weird. It's basically like any other launch, but they decided to label and distinguish between them like they're different. When I saw the controller had a label on it, I had to laugh. What a waste of a sticker. I assume it's a sticker anyway. I wouldn't want that on my controller for next 8 years or whatever.
