ok ya I have no problem selling for around market value.
What upsets me is the collectors who Live on the forums and buy all the statues lots of times multiples. Hype up the piece all over the net constantly and then list them for crazy amounts and set up a false price market. Thats what happened with XM at first! now that "these ppl" found out its hard to make much on most XM thats why you are seeing the costs of secondhand XM coming down...
as far as any kind of "moral high ground" if you are buying to keep in your display thats a true collector. If you need to sell a few years down the road for w/e reason you sell it for around the natural market value. You dont list something as a pre order, or shortly after release sale 2-3x the price just cause you can, those ppl are the @-holes who ruin this hobby.
Okay, so just so I have this straight. If you buy something with the intent to sell it immediately and charge as much as someone is willing to pay for it you are an @-hole, but if you wait two years and do the same thing, that's okay?
How about this, I bought it, someone else didn't. They have the Demand, I have the supply and if they are willing to pay for it then I'm going to take their money.
All this garbage about "real" collectors and collecting morals is just that, garbage. If you don't want to pay a certain price, don't. I've abstained from buying a great many things because of price, collecting is no different. Either you want it so bad you'll find a way to get it at a price you can afford or you just don't need it that badly.
