Sssssssssssooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo............ Nice to see a new ANH SS 1/6 in people's hands wouldn't you say?:monkey3

I just got this today in the mail and opened it. To be honest, this looks okay to me, at least as far as sculpt. Just be glad it doesn't look like ROTJ Luke and used the same damn sculpt again. Here are my pics if anyone gives two fuucks:

Nice pics... I think he'll look good next to my second SS Han that I've got dressed in his ANH clothes. Looking forward to getting him.

Thanks for sharing.

These figures have to be at a certain price point in order to sale ... which makes the item profitable ... which makes the crazy cost of the license worth it. Best example is the Hot Toy's Rocky figure SSC is releasing. I love Rocky. I also felt the Hot Toys figure looked great. However, there was no way I was going to pay 150 dollars for him ... no matter how much I liked the piece. In all fairness, the 99.99 SSC is asking is still rather high for a muscle body with shorts, shoes, belt, and robe.

I agree the Rocky figures are under-clothed for the price...except that AMAZING looking street clothes Mr.T!!! And yes, I *did* pre-order him. I feel confident the figure will look 99% like that prototype photo, and that's worth $150 clams to me. An accurate, well-made Mr. T is worth quite a lot. He's gonna deliver quite the beatdown on my Marmit Boba Fett...
I can't agree with your high price driving people away argument... look at the quarter scale SS super expensive figures, all the maquettes and sculpted pieces... high dollar stuff, and they sell.

As it is, I have *no* SS 12 inch Star Wars in my collection right now... if they had done them accurately, scaled them properly, and made them look like they gave half a damn, I would probably have every piece they have made thusfar... I wouldn't be able to resist, the same way I just had to buy all those Spider-Man 3 medicom figures.

If I thought for an instant I could kitbash that Luke and make an acceptable one using another company's body, head repaint, etc, I would keep him. However, he just seems poorly made all around, and the #1 feature of that character, the iconic yellow jacket, is not much better quality than something you'd see on a Hasbro 12 inch figure. It's ill fitting, and the details are disproportionate. It definitely was an "oh whatever, they'll still buy it".

I don't see how making the heads smaller and in-scale and tailoring/hemming the clothes to atleast look and fit like the screen version would up the price so much.

Yeah, but that's not a good enough excuse (at least for me) to purchase an item. That just means there are multiple products I should avoid. Even if the SS is the best one so far, if it doesn't really "pop" for me, I don't need it. I'd rather have none than compromise.

I'm sorry, SS could have done a LOT better. This figure is not even close. The jacket isn't even the right color or texture. I want better. I would pay twice SS price for one that really looks like the movie.

Great! Than please don't buy it! :D

Oh believe me, I won't next time, and this one is going back. I don't reward a halfass job.
And I wouldn't have bought it, if the pictures on the website accurately showed what you were getting.
The prototype was much closer. Not perfect, but more acceptable.
Believe me, I learned my lesson on this purchase.

Yeah, I feel burned as well. I like how they released the production picts just as it was shipping. I guess they probably thought theyd get stuck with alot of product like GG did with the Clone armor Obi Wan. I know I wouldve canceled my order. Why does such a big player in the collectibles/figure field have such a hard time with quality control in their 1/6th line? Dont they have any leverage at the overseas factories?

Its hard to get excited about ANH Ben Kenobi with SS's erratic track record.

You took the words right out of my mouth.

Just curious, where do you base that statement from, the product page features the same pictures that were up at pre-order?

I'd kill for some David Banner/Hulk 12" figs.

Me 2, Hot Toys only though, gotta do the muscular body for Hulk anyway, and I'd want it based on season 4&5 makeup, that was the best in my mind.

Agreed on the HT muscle body, with no green on the bottom of the feet. :D
