I've seen too many to pick a favorite. The Watchmen is a film I can watch over and over again, but I realise it's not the best film ever made. I'm a HUGE Scorsese fan so flicks like Goodfellas and Casino belong in my top ten for sure.

1. 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY

2. FIGHT CLUB

3. pulp fiction
4. goodfellas
5. no country for old men
6. the godfather part 2
7. inglourious basterds
8. the shining
9. death proof
10. the matrix

lol Love this thread! its so old most of the pics have been deleted so i dont know what FAV movie they talking about! :rotfl:rotfl

I love movies. Period. There are so many that are my favorites. And there are so many I rewatch on a yearly, even monthly, basis, some blockbusters, some indie, ranging from quirky films, dramas, comedies, sci-fi, adventure, to flat-out action.

However, if I honestly had to sit down and single one out as a "possible" top favorite... well, then I guess I would have to give it to Batman Begins.

Honorable mentions go to Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, The Matrix, Saving Private Ryan, The Dark Knight, Gladiator, The Sixth Sense and Braveheart. Of course, I can't forget about Batman '89, which was my first theatrical experience. A little too much Batman, but whatever.

There are a handful of movies I really like and can call my "favorites" but I don't think I have ONE specific all time favorite altho this one is right up there.
"Forces of Nature"
It's weird because I'm not a romantic comedy kinda of girl,
but there's something about this movie that I really like and I never get tired of watching it. :dunno

What is the best movie you've seen and/or your favorite? Why?

I'd say the best movie i've ever seen was Saving Private Ryan. I can't think back to a movie that actually had more significance and relevance. The intensity and graphic nature is not spared nor watered down. It's very blunt and in your face. Just like real war. It tells an amazing story of sacrifice during an ubelievably sad time in the human timeline. It's directed by Steven Spielberg who simply makes better movies than practically anybody else.

The Dark Knight Rises is my favorite movie. It completes the single best trilogy in American cinema history and the single best rendition of Batman ever put to film. It's a spectacle to behold in IMAX with it's picture perfect sound and crisp thundering sound. It not only is IMO the best of the 3 movies but it has the most epic ending i've ever seen to a movie. It's an amazing film that carries the weight of 2 other massively successful films (namely The Dark Knight) and does it with relatively minor flaws.

Re: What is the best movie you've seen and/or your favorite? Why?

Hmm.

Best movie is probably ALIEN. The atmosphere, sound, design, characters, tension and scares were all top notch

Some of my Favourites Planet of The Apes, The Thing (1982), Big Trouble in Little China, Trading Places, X-Men First Class, Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill, Flash Gordon, A New Hope, Back To The Future, Beverly Hills Cop, Watchmen

Nice. I definitely respect ALIEN as one of the best ever. For all of the reasons you stated. And I like your style in the favorites. All excellent movies in their own rights.

The best one in my opinion everyone clapped at the end in the cinema classic The Lord of the Rings fellowship of the ring

I don't have a favorite, there are way too many great films out there to only pick one. Not even listing them could do them justice.
