Pretty sure it's all done on computers now, even in Japan. MAYBE Ghibli still does cels, but I honestly don't know.

I personally hate it when western animators try to do anime. You get that faux-anime look like the new Creature Commandos cartoon. No thanks.

Why doesn’t marvel just do what dc did and animate different comic arcs . Hell they use to kinda do that. It would be so easy. America cuts corners with animation so much now it looks terrible.

Sheesh what happened in the 90s when they treated it like an art form. Disney had massive balls back then .

Or just revive the 90’s Spider-Man show. Or even Spectacular.

Animation Style: it's fine. Different. Not the best, not the worst. It's art...what do you want?

Not being able to tell the gender: watching, I heard his voice before seeing him. But sure, okay. It is animated after all.

Woke/race/gender swapping: we all prefer o.g. (that's why we're here right? Love for the original is why we're all here). I don't see the necessity for it but... these characters have been seen and told over and over. Guess the only way to do anything fresh is completely new filters. I guess you'd prefer nothing at all for another 20 years?

2 episodes in, I like it a lot actually but don't need it. Guess Disney could've saved more money or... trying to bring in a younger, fresh demographic.

I really liked the first episode and dig the more classic character design, but kinda lost interest halfway through the second. Too much time with him in a boring lab or making friends with people and not enough fun crime fighting. And there are just too many other cool shows calling my name right now.

I like the theme music. It brings me back.
I love how they’re incorporating Kirby/Ditko-like lines into the characters. It’s a really nice way to pay homage to the classics comics. As for the gender/race swaps:
1. Doesn’t bother me at all. I’ve seen the original versions 10 million ways over and over. Different takes and twists are refreshing.
2. IMO, it’s not lazy when this and other properties do this. It’s more about catching up and it’s about time. I don’t think it changes the character’s story and motivations.

We're decades outside this demographic and that's just what some kids look like now.

Reminds me of war vets yelling at hippies to cut their hair.

Based on the trailer I think it's totally fine. Kinda like a much flatter, budget version of the Spider-Verse style. Reminds me in some ways of some old MTV stuff or something.

Based on the comments here I was expecting a train wreck of a trailer. But it's fine LOL.

This show looks like total Another group of writers "reimagining" something to how they think it should be.

Why not really shake up the Spider-Man lore. Instead of being bit by a radioactive spider for the umpteenth time, maybe the Symbiote should've bitten him. And that's why he's Spider-Man. He just copies Venom.

This is the 1st Spider-Man toon I have ZERO interest in and will never watch.

Yeah, I know what the white suit is in the comics. That's why I wondered how and why it would be in this show so early with no context. So I guess Oscorp is replacing Stark in this stupid show?

Yeah Norman is his mentor here. And that comes with the usual Norman-isms that you'd expect. Very different than Tony.
