My understanding is that they all look better than their DVD counterparts, but the video quality is a mixed bag. Star Trek 2 has the best picture upgrade. Star Trek 1 is only the theatrical cut. I was a bit underwhelmed with the box, so I ended up just getting Part 2.

That about sums up perfectly what I was reading this morning.

Guess I'm now waiting for the $38 special or a complete remastered set that will be released maybe next summer with Trek 2.

The redone FX on Star Trek: TMP were not done in hi def, so don't expect to see the director's cut on Blu-ray any time soon.

No, they changed the packaging after the first two so it's a slipcover for the first two and slipbox with lenticular cards on the rest.
