My first post in this thread.
I've had a 42" Panasonic 1080p plasma Tv for a little over 4 years now. For five months my only HD content was my Xbox 360. Then I got DirecTv HD installed. I got an HD-DVD drive for my Xbox riiiight before the format died. :slap

I've finally decided to get Blu Ray after all this time. I've been debating whether I should get a PS3 or not. I understand that todays stand alone players perform better with both Blu Ray discs and upconverting standard DVD.

Once I get my tax return this year I'll be ordering a Panasonic DMP-BDT210 and the following list of movies.

Sunshine
Southland Tales
Black Swan
The Mist
Predator (Ultimate Hunter Edition)
Alien Anthology
Legend (already own on DVD but...)
The Fountain (own on HD-DVD and DVD, but... favorite all time movie)

Whoo!! Welcome to the Blu-ray family, buddy! :1-1:

But... I'm already bankrupt due to my statue/figure obsession.

Oh, and since I'm being welcomed; why isn't there a decent version of the original Terminator on Blu Ray? All of the reviews for any version of it say that it's crap, a lousy up-converted DVD quality transfer.

It's coming. James Cameron is overseeing a full restoration of The Terminator for Blu-Ray release at some point.

I still have yet to see Avatar. I have never had any interest in it. That gets reinforced every time that I hear more about it, or see a snippet here or there.

I've never seen it either! :lol I bought the Bluray last week at Costco and haven't had time to view it.

Just imagine Dances With Wolves.....take out Indians and put in Blue People....that's pretty much the movie.

With the DVD upgrade at Best Buy I scooped up:

American History X
Raging Bull
Stripes
Casino
Good Will Hunting

$4.99 each with the trade in.

Not bad I think.

Will make another round this week.

Was thinking of getting Rome... is $20 a season good?

So if you trade in your old DVD's you get the same tiles for $4.99? Does it have to be the same titles?

No trade in any original DVD and it gives you a $5 off coupon towards any Blu-ray $9.99 or more.

Me I just picked a bunch of $10 catalog titles So it was a steal.
