Re: Your 2011 October/Halloween Movie List

I just finished up The Invasion of The Body Snatchers (1978). I had forgotten what a wonderfully creepy and effective film that was!
They sure don't make 'em like they used to.

I think it's crazy but Spielberg is just a genius, anything I have ever watched from him has this sort of magic that really just keeps you interested in the characters, the story, and almost feel like a part of the movie. Maybe I'm just silly but it really has this effect on me. I know he was just the co-writer of Poltergeist but you can tell that it's his style.

The wife and I watched this the past year and all over again, almost the same feeling as E.T.

Speilberg directed most of Poltergeist as a phantom director. Pardon the pun. So your instincts are correct. He took over the reigns as he was unhappy with what he was seeing in the dailies.

Paranormal activity. Man I was freaked. Has to be one of the scariest movies I have ever seen. Those documentary style movies work perfect for this genre.

Re: Your 2011 October/Halloween Movie List

All of you guys who suggested Insidious are in big trouble.
I bought the blu-ray and watched it lastnight, oh my god I hated it!
I thought it was very silly. The evil demon looked like a dodgy street performer! I'm never listening to any of you again!
:)

Re: Your 2011 October/Halloween Movie List

That's pretty much how I feel Nam!
It was an idiotic and derivative movie.
A couple of cheap jumps and lots of bad acting.
