Same shame here in Germany...

I live in a village but wasn´t at home last year when all the kids were on the streets...

Have to get a Jason or Meyers Mask till halloween, a knife in the hand and I´m able to open the door!!! ;-)

I could be wrong but I think you guys in the US seem to take holidays seriously and go all out. Seems christmas is the same. Everything seems to be over the top. Which is a good thing. I love it. Whereas over here these things seem less and less of an event. A real shame. Especially as, as you say, europe has a great history with spookyness. England itself has some great haunted places and ghost stories.

It's capitalism, pure and simple. It's quite awful, when you get down to the economic reasons behind most of our holiday practices here.

Still, I do love me some Halloween! :horror

Yeah I get that its all due commercial but still, its fun. Love seeing all the decorations and all the effort that seems to go into it over there.

Just watching return of the living dead part 2 while on my night shift. Haven't seen this in ages. :)

I was really excited for that when I first heard about it. Then when the first trailer finally hit I realised it was a comedy and it just looked awful. :lol. Admittedly I've never seen it though so perhaps its not so bad.

Watching it now. I don't like horror movies but if they have comedy in them. I. Like them.

Watching the second half of season two of the Walking Dead on bluray and drinking this...

haha thats awesome

i love the walking dead. was a big fan of the comic so when i heard they were making a tv show i was a bit unsure. but hunted it down online as it wasnt being shown over here at the time and ended up watching the whole first series in on night. absolutely loved it super excited for season 3 later this month. :rock

Sadly not, no. You might get two or three horror films shown on halloween but that's about it. There's very little happening over here. As a kid it was much better, spooky documentaries, halloween specials, old fashioned horror films, decorations, trick or treating. Nowadays though there's practically nothing. Its actually my dream to one day go to the US for halloween. Its something I've always enjoyed ever since I was a kid. No one else I know seems to get it. :lol

Oh, hell no!
There's no ******king way I could live there. No offense. :D

Do yourself a favor and visit the US just once during this time.
In Orlando, Florida, you could visit Universal Studios. They convert the theme park to the Halloween theme. They call it, Halloween Horror Nights.

Read more about it here:

There's also got to be some local venue doing a Halloween festival, a haunted house, or a Halloween Party/dance.

Over here in Los Angeles, we've got all the freaks here. So we welcome Halloween like it's some sacred holiday. :lol

Visit Hollywood, California on Halloween night and you'll see what I mean. :rock

Just popped in The Others, with Nicole Kidman.

This one is not so much about gore (which I'm already desensitized to), but a psychological thriller/suspense... with a twist. Highly recommended if you haven't already seen it.

Hahaha, its ok man, no offense taken. It totally sucks. I feel like such an outcast as I absolutely love halloween, my favourite time of the year, yet nothing is ever really done about it. It is my dream to one day visit the US for halloween. I did go to LA for holiday a few years back, stayed on the sunset strip, and I can imagine at halloween it'd be pretty awesome.

The others is an absolutely fantastic film. With a twist I totally never saw coming. :goodpost:

You mean people only celebrate to the extremes that they do because corporations tell them to buy stuff?

:lol

You know what I mean, and I'm too tired to explain.

But Walmart has Christmas filling up the Garden department already! :rotfl
