Watched Halloween last night with my 13 year old niece. She thinks she's pretty badass, and nothing scares her. At the end of the closet scene, she said, "Wow. That was intense." And when he sat back up, "Oh, God..."

One of the best scenes from any horror movie. :lecture

Just ordered a few from Amazon. Looking forward to getting...

Friday the 13th Pt III
Friday the 13th (remake)
Texas Chainsaw Massacre (remake - already own original)
Midnight Meat Train (Clive Barker - have not watched yet but have heard good reviews of it... for $8.00 on blu-ray, figured why not)
The Thing (original - another one I've never seen but from reviews looks great)

Will also be sure to watch...

Wolf Creek
Dawn of the Dead (remake)
TCM (original)

So I can get the original Halloween franchise on blu-ray for $100. I would get be triple dipping on the first (dvd + first blu-ray release) and double dipping on 2 and 3 (dvd). I think it will be totally worth it regardless.

Started out last night with 2 pretty awesome (never before seen by me) flicks. I consider myself a HUUUGE horror movie fan.( I'm currently looking for somebody to do a horror movie podcast with.)
I will update my halloween list. I love horror movies from nosferatu all the way up to the brand new ones. (I'm partial to 80's movies/monster/creature features from that time)

Anyway. 1st I watched was AMERICAN MARY- great movie. Catherine Isabelle is really really great in it (ginger snaps) overall 7.5 out of ten.

2nd was "My Amittyville Horror. Daniel Lutz own story and take on the famous haunted house story. He was one of the sons in the house.
It was pretty fascinating. Danny is a very strong personality to say the least. Truth or Lie. Watch for yourself and see! 7.0 out of ten.

Both are recommended. And BOTH are streaming on Netflix.

Great list. :duff
The Thing especially. One of my favorite classic horror/scifi films.

Yes, really looking forward to The Thing, in particular. I saw some of the concept 1:6 figures in the Customs section, which peaked my interest so I decided to get an idea of the movie from a few reviews. Looks like it's just my taste. Not sure how I missed it all these years but glad I stumbled across that thread.

Cheers, Zsasz! Yep, as mentioned above, can't wait to check out The Thing. Next is Midnight Meat Train (despite the cheesy title) since it's the only other one from the list that I've not seen. I like Barker and the movie got surprisingly good reviews (in the sense that the critics usually savage anything horror related). The other ones I've put off buying for too long, so will be fun to watch them again.

Watched House of Exorcism this afternoon. Telly Savalas is awesome, and it started off cool, but that was about it. I'm going to assume that the original Italian release (Lisa & The Devil) is no better because there's no way I'm sitting through it twice.

Awesome!

Have your niece watch some of these too:

The Ring
Grave Encounters
The Grudge

Let us know how she reacts. :)

I won't watch The Ring again. :lol

I was thinking she needs to see Alien. I'm also doing my damnedest to get her to watch Phenomena because she can't handle bugs.

That makes me happy. :D

Me too. :D

Oh yeah. I must be doing something right in the uncle department.

Idle Hands
Drag Me to Hell
Zombie Land
Demon Knight
Fright Night
Dawn of the Dead
Evil Dead
Cabin in the Woods
Jeepers Creepers

I am probably forgetting some other gems.

I'll be watching Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 some time this month. That's my personal favorite of the series. Chop Top's my fave.

I won't watch The Ring again. :lol

Yeah!! :yess:

That's what I'm talkin' bout!
That's why I love this movie. :lol

There's also an easter egg on the DVD (not sure about the blu ray).
I remember it's not hard to find on the menu screen. When you do find it, it plays the actual scenes on the chain letter videotape as seen in the movie. It's as if you're now the one watching the video. :horror
That was such a treat to find. Awesome! :rock

Thanks, but...no thanks. :wave

It was embarrassing how bad that movie scared me. And I had been fine, right up until the kid's nose started bleeding.
