Damn, bro! You're killin me. :rotfl

I hear ya. Great analogy. :hi5:

I use to surf a lot when I was much younger.
One time, my buddies and I were out in Port Hueneme, CA. Swells were reaching 12' next to the pier.

While waiting to catch that perfect wave, I thought I saw a fin pop out of the water about 130' away to my right. I asked my other two friends who were also out there with me if they saw it too.

They did not.

One of my friends catches a wave. Then my other friend catches a wave. Because I was being so picky, I stayed out to wait for a bigger wave.

Then, about 30' away from me to my right... this dark head pops its head out of the water. Big, marble-black eyes looking right back at me. I SWEAR, I caught the next wave that came in which was a smaller 7 footer that I normally would have passed on. It was slow and I was panicking, looking at the water below and behind me almost the entire time. Nearly fell off from all the nervous shaking in my legs.

Needless to say, I rode that wave all the way to the sand, picked up my board, and ran up the beach.

That f___ing seal ruined the rest of my day and I have never been back to that spot since. :lol

:lol I had a story like that too... I lived in Mississippi and the beach there is manmade so it stretches out for almost a mile before dropping off. I was out very very far, the water was up to my chin...

I was swimming around when I felt something hit my side. It was big, and had that sandpaper feel to it's skin. I felt the side fin hit me and the tail whip around my body before it swam away.

Needless to say the blood drained from my face and I very carefully, and calmly, started walking back to the beach. As I walked I could see swirls in the water around me, and I was really freaking out.. I was thinking that the shark was circling me. I made it back to land, but it was about 15 minutes of pure terror as I waded back as calmly as I could. I never saw the actual shark, but I am confident that it's what I felt. I'm just glad it nudged me with it's body and didn't try to "feel" me with it's mouth. :horror

Any insect in a large quantity - ants, spiders, you name it. One or two...no problem...but when there is a group of them...it freaks me out.

seems like from the freaks here the phobias are the same, Bugs, Heights, Claustrophobia, wendigos
