I thought of another one. While I'm usually okay with heights, it doesn't bother me, I absolutely hate going on elevators. I had to go on one when I went to a courthouse for jury duty, and I almost had a panic attack. I was starting to freak out in front of 15 other people in there.

It's that last little "drop" before the doors open that always gets me. Then my eyes pan to the certification and see that it's expired. :lol

Great stories everyone and thank you for sharing!

I really wish I could give some answers, but I'm more entertained than anything. :lol

Boba Ben, I thought I had your story all figured out until you said "black eyes". F___ that! I would have screamed while running straight across the soccer game.

Lejuan, sounds like a trip you were having, but the coolest part is one of your friends (or more) saw the same exact thing. So...
...either you all had some of the wickedest chronic ever or you had a true paranormal experience.

I have no problem climbing a tree or going on the roof, it's getting back "down" is what freaks me out. I remember in boot camp, I had to climb down a rope from a tower in the confidence course. I was so afraid, that I had convinced myself that my hands were so sweaty that I would slip off the rope and I'd plummet to my death. My drill sergeant wouldn't go for a retreat down the ladder. Instead he said the platoon would wait all day for me to come down, so not only was I petrified but totally embarrassed! I climbed down after getting yelled at by a drill sergeant in each ear, and ended up with an all night guard duty.

(not me but you get the idea!)

I'll NEVER forget that! :lol

Are you sure it's not claustrophobia?

Are you able to stand in your closet with the doors closed or have someone roll you up inside of a big blanket like what they do with Persian rugs? It can be terrifying to have your arms and legs bound to your body like that and have that feeling of not being able to move... but I kind of like it. :D

LOL! Seriously.
One of the places I go to for work has an elevator with an expired certification. When you look at the place, you just know nobody goes there to check on safety parameters of the building. :lol

I still think the Rake/ wendigo might be more likely than the aliens,
I suppose I think so too.
Like I said, I don't remember ever seeing art or drawings of a ghost/demon/monster/etc that resembled what I saw very well besides the Rake/Wendigo.
Aliens however, are usually depicted as tall, skinny, grey (white) humanoid beings.

And it seemed more interested/curious than aggressive. From what i've read about the Wendigo/Rake in the past few days, they seem to be very sinister and evil...whispering to people in their sleep, killing, etc.

Like allot of people I love a good paranormal story and I can empathize with you guys when you talk about questioning yourself as to whether your encounter was a real, a false memory triggered by something unrelated or even just a simple dream.
One thing I have always found very strange about my incident is that my mother and father were apparently yelling at me when I took off running. I don't remember hearing their voices AT ALL.

And like I said, the trail curved around the bottom of a very wide hill..so when I ran, I eventually was out of site to my parents because of the curvature.
I thought I had only ran 30-50 feet away and that they'd walk around the curve any damn second..but they didn't while the whole encounter took place. Then when it was over, I ran back to them and they were like, right at the same spot or just a bit ahead.
It sounds kind of silly, but it's almost as if time froze or became very still in that moment. More evidence that points to that is how slow the creature seemed despite the fact that he was running/jogging. It felt like I was watching him run in slow motion. And his head turned to me very, very slowly.

My mother has always said that when I began to run, it was completely unexpected. Says I never turned back and just basically sprinted off. I don't understand why I would do that.

I have always had a memory that up until recently I had assumed was a very vivid dream, when I was very young, probably around 4 or 5 I remember being at my grandmother's house with my parents, it was a bright day and the sky was completely cloudless and a I remember looking up in the air and seeing a UFO. I remember screaming for my dad and asking him what it was, he replied in the most nonchalant fashion saying that i shouldn't worry and it was just one of those flying saucer things.

What lead me to believe it was a dream was my dad's reaction to the situation, where he was so calm and paid this object in the sky no attention whereas if this event actually occurred I would have expected him to show some kind of reaction to it such as wanting to grab a camera and take photo's or at the very least going to fetch my mum and grandmother so that they could see this to.

As a result of this i just decided to myself that it must have been a dream albeit a very vivid dream and hence I just forgot about it until earlier this year when i asked my mum if anything like that ever happened that she remembered. My mum told me that she didn't remember seeing anything that day but she does remember my dad talking about it and trying to reassure me at the time that it was nothing to worry about.

So then i started to think that maybe i did see something that day and that this whole surreal event that for years I had assumed was a dream may have actually happened.
It must not have been a dream if your mother remembers your father talking about it.

Do you remember what the UFO looked like?
There are several things that could be mistaken for UFOs..and I would say especially at the age of four-five.
When I was three-four I remember seeing these giant lighted circles in the sky at night and running inside to tell everyone...turned out they were just spot lights.
I've mistaken birds for planes because of how high some fly.
There's also satellites and meteors...

...edit: nevermind, I just asked my mom about those lighted circles and she said none of us knew what they were and that there were actually three of them and they looked exactly like stars but slightly larger, and they would randomly like, zoom to a different spot in the sky. Another alien encounter. :lol

Lar'ja Thwei: I can only imagine how strange your encounter must have been and i must admit the creepiest aspect of that to me i the idea that changes in terrain didn't affect the creatures movement, it just seemed intent on running.
When you say intent on running, let me add that he didn't seem scared or anything. I didn't get the feeling that he was running from something..it was strange. When I saw his face, I remember it being completely neutral. Not happy, sad, scared, surprised..just neutral. Everything about it was so neutral.

If you had put a 50 foot wall of solid steel in front of him, he would have ran straight through it without it having any effect on him.
That's what it seemed like at least.

Perfect, invincible, solid motion.

I don't think I'm claustrophobic. I'm okay when it comes to space issues. I don't like that feeling when inside an elevator, even if I'm the only one in there. It's that small jolt as it starts that I get freaked out. I try to go on stairs as much as possible.

Is this the Sears Tower in Chicago? F___ this ____ dammit!

Just F___ it good and hard!!

My knees would buckle and my spine would freeze before I would get within 50 feet of that glass box.

Of all the things: blood, needles, bugs, aliens, ghosts... it had to be heights! :rotfl

I'd agree with Lar'ja Thwei that what Boba Ben encountered sounds like some sort of gnome or little person and correct me if i'm wrong but allot of native american tribes held a believe in little people.

That's an interesting insight about the Native American tribes. I did a search for "Native American Little People" and came up with a lot of results. I quickly found this description, which is pretty similar to the description of what I thought I saw.

The Osage Little People are reputed to be ugly, wrinkled, and gnomish looking, wearing tattered, old fashioned, clothes.

I have a few... Death is the big one... Heights also, but only if it is waaaaaay up. The next would be sharks, I am terrified of sharks.. I won't swim in the ocean most of the time because of that one.

Lastly, I have a fear of failure. Unfortunately, I am the king of self fulfilling prophecies so I manage to fail and fail often. I'm working on that one. The Navy helped me get over it to a degree, but it still plagues my existence.

Possibly that feeling of being weight-less or being suspended.
What about the Superman ride at Magic Mountain. Try that one sometime.

I highly doubt they've got all black eyes. Just saying.

Afraid of sharks... boy, did you choose the wrong branch to enlist in. :D

How do you feel when you see them in aquariums, like at Sea World for example? Are you able to walk up to the glass and watch as the bigger ones swim past?

Yeah, I don't know. That's just what I remember about the thing I saw. It seems like many different Native tribes have stories about little forest spirits from the little bit of reading I just did today.

I'm almost certain that you really did see a very small person that day.
I was just thinking, because when we're young, our imagination is so wild, we can create things in our head without seeing it with our eyes. I wonder if the black eyes detail was a trait added in your head after years of suppressing the memory of this encounter.

OK, so if you wanted to go on it, you're most likely not afraid of being suspended.

I'm okay with heights. I love going on rollercoasters. :)

But those 2 experiences don't feel the same to me. :dunno Completely different for me.

Speaking of rollercoasters, I had the chance to go on Tatsu. Man, that ride is awesome.
