Honestly man, I wouldn't even look into breads. My best advice is to just go down to your local shelter and a special one always seems to catch your eye. I've had 4 kettehs and they have all been different, with different attitudes and lifestyles.

They adapt to you which is always good.

Ah see, that's where I get confused! Usually when I'm at the pet store, I go and check out the kittehs and they're are a lot of cute ones but a lot aren't trained or they're just anti-social, unaffectionate cats.... my thinking was that if I got one from a breeder then I'd get one as a kitten and I could train them properly, etc. Some people say adopt, some people say don't adopt and go to a breeder.

I'm not sure what to do!

Also, watching that first Bengal video scared me...I know exactly what would happen.

If it's your first kitteh definitely adopt, (my two cents). Shelters always have kittehs. Sadly, because sometimes if an owner's cat gets pregnant they don't want to hassle with it and take it to the shelter. Also, a good thing about adopting is that usually the first set of shots and the neuter is free. Plus, it's always great to see a kitten who has seen nothing but the inside of a cage experience their first trip inside your house.


Adopt>Breeder any day.

Yep. Never brought a cat from a pet shop. Simba was from a large litter.

I think cats being bred and sold specifically for pet stores are illegal in Canada...only rescues. If you wanted a specific breed you'd have to go to a actual licensed breeder. I'd love to adopt a rescue or something, I'd just have to find the perfect cat.

And who is Oscar, he is beautiful! Is he yours?

I'm thinking one to start and see how that goes...I don't think I want to dive head first into a pair right away but eventually I'd love to get a second cat so they can keep each other company.

Poor guy, I'm surprised he wasn't euthanized. Goodness that he wasn't though because he is now my #2 favourite YouTube cat Maru is #1

If you like their facebook page they post other disabled kittehs for adoption all the time!
