Re: Zack Snyder's Justice League coming in 2021

Aquaman recruitment scene was instantly better now that it showed that most of the town didn't speak English. Whedon presented it as if Curry was just announcing to everyone that Bruce Wayne was Batman.

Steppenwolf's arrival and the subsequent Amazon/Mother Box chase was SOOOO much better. Wow did Whedon go out of his way to make that sequence utterly laughable. I'm really looking forward to seeing the rest.

I mean Whedon had a maximum time limit he could make the movie. A lot of decisions were out of his hands. He was hired for a very specific job with specific constraints.

I think I like the Snyder Cut a little more than the original release. Part of that is things just being fleshed out more which was good. Other parts really dragged out, and I had to stop the movie cause I was losing interest.

But in net, I would have to say I prefer this version, even if it feels overly dreary.

Beers in, pizza coming, time to watch this behemoth, excitement through the roof! Audience scores are very high, RT keeps trending upwards, hype train full swing. :panic:

Audience scores are high because the only people watching this four hour turd and reviewing this are Snyder fanboys. :lol

Holy crap i?m dying super loooooong slooow mega movie lol

But well said!

Yeah HT collecting truly is plastic heroin!

I haven't watched any of it yet (hoping to start in tonight) but without even considering the film's quality it's not hard to understand why the WB suits were going to can Snyder over it. He basically took 4 hours to tell PART ONE of his Justice League story when he sold them on a two movie story arc. I'm pretty sure if any of us spent twice the time and resources necessary on a project and still failed to deliver what we were contracted for that would be cause for termination. I'm curious if after viewing this anyone thinks there's an edited version of it (say @2-1/2 hours long) that would have been coherent enough to release back in 2017. Apparently WB/DC didn't think so.

I won’t know until I watch it tonight but something tells me there is going to be a whole lot of exposition done in slow mo rain lol

Exposition...you don't know the half of it.

At the top of every hour Steppenwolf phones home to say the same thing in a slightly different way.

:lol

I have heard there's a ****load of slow-motion. He probably could have cut 30 minutes out just by having those scenes run at normal speed...

And we thought Wandavision took forever to get going lol

Well, when you inevitably watch it, try not to hate it too much, and try not to be too salty :D

Remember, this is our Duckling you're talking to...

It's no joke that the slow-motion contributes a good deal to the inflated run time. Pretty much any scene not featuring dialogue is slow-motion in fact. :lol

Regardless, now knowing exactly which scenes/shots/lines were Snyder's and which were Whedon's so far there hasn't been one single moment that I would say that Whedon actually improved. Whedon's scene where Flash scribbles marker all over the guy's face making him look silly in the theatrical cut is a perfection representation of what he did to Zack's film.

Funnily enough I'm finding myself kind of wanting to own the 2017 JL now just for the lolz since I'll always have Zack's version to go back to. Kind of how I disowned the Schumacher Batflicks until Nolan's trilogy made me realize I could still enjoy those as harmless and ridiculous fun from time to time, lol.

I wonder what JAWS will think of Snyder's cut since I know that he was one of the few who considered the 2017 JL to have a genuinely enjoyable "Saturday Morning Cartoon" vibe.

Is it really a Zack Snyder film of it doesn?t have an over abundance of slow mo? I have to say this was vastly superior in every aspect to JWs, however there?s zero chance Warner Bros would have allowed the 4 hour run time that this really needed. I would?ve happily sat through it, but how many regular folk who aren?t comic fanboys would? The Theatrical cut has no rewatch value for me, but I could easily sit through this again. Really hope people who were against this come around and we can get a continuation of this story in some form.

I think I like the atmosphere a little bit better in the Whedon version. What this movie does it makes the current world seem so bleak and drab, that the post-apocalyptic future looks only slightly less cheerful then the present.

I think if the present day seemed a bit more hopeful and bright at times, it would contract well with the bleakness of a failed world in the future.

This movie has zero re-watchability for me, seeing it once is all I needed.

Unfortunately, I have to wait until tomorrow to watch this because my son has baseball practice tonight. I am glad its getting positive feedback thus far, people seem to be enjoying it (currently sitting at 97% RT GP rating) even some of the critics that hate Zack Snyder are giving it props. I really hope the positive feedback continues and people are very vocal about it so Zack gets to finish the story. Honestly, i am not looking forward to the cliff hanger ending its just going to leave me wanting more, but we all know money talks and if people want part 2 and 3 we will get it- this movies very existence is proof of that.

I'm 25 minutes in and already laughed 4 times. Holy hell this thing sucks :lol I had to pause it just to vent :lol Great comedy though, I will admit that. Maybe it gets better? Nah who am I kidding.

I hit play and there is a damn square on my flat screen. Who the hell picked that aspect ration. This some new artistic vision thing from the Great God Snyder? :lol

The summary of the BvS crap just reminds me how god awful the CGI/VFX was, like holy crap, even TPM blows it away!

Superman's scream going throughout the world waking the Martha Boxes was ridiculous and hilarious.

I forgot just how bad of a Bruce Wayne Ben Affleck really is. Timid, shy, weak... Alfred is ok though.

Aquaman still sucks. It is a mix of Jason Momoa and Khal Drogo. Yeesh. Can the real Aquaman please stand up?

Those girls singing and then sniffing his sweater was a WTF moment. I don't even understand the point of it. Snyder cray cray.

Lois Lane still sucks.

The slow motion garbage probably adds two hours onto this movie.

Wonder Woman is dope, but that female power you can be anything scene was forced as hell. Nearly threw up. Was waiting for KK to jump through my screen with a force is female shirt.

I don't understand why Bruce rides a horse to see Aquamomoa when he could have just took a Bat Jet or Bat Sub. Probably an excuse so Snyder can get some epic cool edgy dramatic music over nature shots to be such and advanced filmmaker.

The audio on this thing is awful too. Feels like I'm watching a Nolan movie. At least those are good.

Oh yes there's no way that a 4 hour film would have survived in the theaters. But they could have pulled a LOTR and just had Zack trim it to 3 hours (maybe even 3 and change) and then dropped the 4 hour EE on blu-ray a few weeks before Part II hit theaters.
