it's tifover...
maybe square enix is cracking down on third parties a lot more serious this time, not just statues but into 1/6 collectibles
game toys will probably have to lay even lower now and am not surprised if there'll be more delays

Just an update over ACG Tifa in China (Taobao):

Many of the Taobao shops have taken ACG Tifa listings down, seemingly due to potential copy strike by SE. Some late orders are also cancelled.

Not sure how that affects international sellers out there but be careful ordering ACG Tifa from shops that claim to still take in orders but not trusted/mentioned before in this thread.
What I said earlier, things are still developing but like I said before, SE is really out for blood.

It's why GT has remained quite silent for a while now. ACG unfortunately for its part had been drumming a bit too loud and caught unnecessary attention.

Square Enix really gets on my nerves. They are incapable of creating actual high quality collectors items, even tho all of it was literally designed in house and they own the IPs. And at the same time they dont want to see unlicensed high quality third party products that are being sold with a nude preview
probably because they are angry that its gonna sell really well and they wont get any of that money.

Ok Square Enix, how about you do official 1/6 and 1/4 collectors series which are able to reach ACG / Gametoys quality or even better
instead of being offended because your own design and quality control sucks ...

That's exactly it

What do you think will happen to the companies making Tifa in 1/6?

I’ve only bought the Play Arts Kai figures from Square, but all of them have been riddled with QC issues. It’s even hard to tell sometimes whether a figure is genuine or not from just the build quality alone. That’s how awful their products have been.

acg tifa went for sexy tifa promotion method(the bust, feet etc),add on one more reason for license holder + government to strike it down.
figure collection is huge serious business in china.

Example: bandai china. They invest heavily in china, therefore they will hunt down major bootleg + 3rd party factory. All these op is to prevent competition,Bandai: why I need to improve while I just make some changes, colour and sell it again as 2.0,3.0,4.0?monopoly is the best for corp but not a good news for us(collector).

Rumour that the op done earlier on this year, is by SE + Bandai China.
Guess too many nude tifa/2b statues coming out during that time.
And too many bootleg and thirdparty dgball / onepiece /gundam etc figure.

crackdown ops in 1/6 figure is considered less than statues due to 1/6 figure consists of many different factory, the supply chain itself provided many jobs in the market, therefore some local governments close one eyes.

Boss also joke about to those who willing to replace him in jail, will receive extra box of gt figure. But yeah,gt always on the watchlist. Too many risk.

Hmmm, we'll have to wait and see what happens.

And it’s funny what does end up getting the Square licenses.

Like those kooky dolls of Alphinaud and Alisae (and 2B and 9S too I think?)

It's sad really...
If they'd just stop producing that "anatomically correct" crap that no one actually really needs anyway there might be a bit less backlash from the licence holders... and it would probably also reduce the production costs as well - and with that the prices customers have to pay...

Perfectly captured thoughts, its hard to sympathize when hearing Square Enix is reporting losses but they are sitting on a money pit with the Final Fantasy IP. What they produce pales in-comparison to what ACG and GameToys is aiming to produce

This store (Nighthood Collectibles) has set their listing for ACG Tifa to Out of Stock. From a quick search I think they're the only ones to have stopped taking orders as of yet. I'm (probably unfairly) wary of claims from these stores that something is affecting all sellers, when Toys Wonderland was notorious for lying to people about figures not being released yet when they had, or that second waves were coming when they weren't.
