Did we confirm ratcheted joints? I heard that thrown around earlier. That alone would be a huge upgrade over the prior figure.

I didn't have a problem with the DX09 when I had it, but after your comparison, I can't stop fixating on how poorly fitted the mouth plates are.

I prefer the cowl texture on the new one, but the body texture of the old. The clincher is the new one's realism and less-exaggerated lips.
Yeah the original release had some real tolerance issues both with the mouths and the hatch on the back of the head. I can’t decide if the original looked a little more like Keaton or if the features were just exaggerated in a cartoon chariacture kind of way.

Won’t know until we get video reviews.

This, this is why I never went back and picked up the DX09. I agree, it has a very cartoon-esque quality to it, more than Nicholson.

This new sculpt is so HD that we’re not used to seeing Keaton Batman like that, thus throwing the likeness off a bit in our eyes. Even the 4K physical disc is grainy.

I look at the right side of the new figure’s
face on that photo and immediately see Keaton, if not for the left eye, you’d think it was him.

I am seeing some real issues with these re releases....

It splits the fan base because many, including myself, don't see the likeness being improved. It seems to be a downgrade.

To each their own I guess.

Blogger photos, HT promotional photos, none ever really make a figure look good like seeing it in hand. This HD detail will be muted in hand, with the Moducase overhead lighting casting shadow on parts of the masked sculpt, it’ll look fantastic I’m sure. Now the suit once again being one piece and overly textured is not good.

Yeah think too the suit is too textured.
It’s less rough and more sleek IMO.

Still don’t understand why they pronounced so much the lines under the eye’s holes…

Man, I just noticed this its kinda bothersome to me. Wtf happened to his chest? Don’t recall it looking so flat and extra wide in the proto photos. Also don’t remember it looking like that on the DX09.

Side note-Likeness is good enough for me. I saw someone say earlier that its about 80% and I agree. Nearly every figure can look dead on in certain shots with specific lighting. Close enough to Keaton, but nowhere near the likeness levels of the recent Tom Holland head or Maul 2.0.

There’s a reason why Burton wanted to redo the design of the suit for BR..he said over and over the years he thought the 89 suit was too rough in texture . I think HT is just sticking to the script and they wanted to showcase how the original suit was different than any other bat suit in the movie franchise

Come on, it never looked good.
It never looked like the real deal no, and the first bank robber Joker had the better likeness, but the paint apps were too dated by 2017 so everyone used the DX11 sculpt until the 2.0 BR came out. We didn’t have much to choose from so we settled.

The same can be said for those who hold the InArt release in high regard, they don’t have a custom sculpt, custom clothes, shoes etc.

Back then we didn’t have 4K copies showing the pores in Heath’s skin, or the more accurate tones with the new age color grading. That all changed the fall of 2017 when the 4K transfer released.
