Is there an HT figure that came out with many complaints that has since held its value, as an example?
Such a drastic change to practically everything that was advertised from preorder photos to delivery. I don’t see how people would just forget this and continue to pay top dollar. TBA has this for $600 USD, no way. I hope JazzInc nails this suit.

Hasn’t JazzInc expressed numerous times that they don’t have any interest in making a 1989 Batman outside of the seated statue?

I feel this figure will have crossover appeal to non 1/6 collectors. who just love Burton Batman. The base alone will go north of $200 unless you get lucky somewhere.

Yep - I think you are right on the money there my friend, the base will sell on its own for so much that I think I will just keep my order.
Even if the figure is parted out in droves, the base will be the part most people will likely want meaning the price will be high.
My plan is to keep my order, see how the figure is - if I consider it an improvement on the Returns Batman 1.0 keep it, if not maybe try and sell the figure and put a dent in the diorama's cost.

Yep, thats really the issue. Fan bases all around the world are interested in so many different IPs, but HT is only look at their own overseas market (plus Star Wars, since their ceo is such a huge Star Wars fan)
Ok, but I'd suggest only keeping your order if you actually like the base that much yourself, and not because you are speculating that it might go up in value. One of the biggest newbie mistakes I made when I first started collecting was listening to other collectors claiming that people should keep their orders bc the value of product X would go up anyway, which ofc never actually happened.

Oh he has interest, he also has interest in a full diecast Tumbler (camo version too) (this sounds like it’s a guarantee as one of his upcoming projects, really wants to do it, he’s a big Nolan fan.)

I think that was how he felt prior to this release. Then with all the hubbub it seems he is considering doing a proper 89 figure

Yeah he said he’ll do the ‘89 or ‘92 suit next year if the support is there, we need this. By then he should have worked on the Keaton likeness a bit more and even if it’s not spot on, the suit will be, it’s bought.

For orders through SSC if I elect not to double box is the item shipped in the hot toys cardboard box? Is that sufficient for transit? For those experienced collectors do you always choose double box or do you pass on it? Appreciate the input in advance!
I pass on double box unless it's free
Just depends how much you value the brown HT shipper box that most sell with their figures. If you don’t get double boxed it could get damaged and they put the sticker labels and what have you on it.

Yeah... I had this figure on my radar. But I couldn't get myself to spend $350 with all the shortcuts and inaccuracies. I spent it on a custom headsculpt instead.
