was offered a DX09 for 170 bucks, but the ankle is damaged and it comes without accessories. should I get it?

For $300, this needs to be more accurate. I feel the lips are a teeny bit too small, and the likeness is there but it’s still off somehow. Maybe it’s too stoic, he needs to put in an expression. Cowl looks great, tho. This head is more expensive than a brand new Hot Toys figure with all the accessories. Lmao
Par for the course with most custom stuff tbh

The mouth plate (most important part imo) is even worse than the 2.0. I already spent $300 on an inaccurate Keaton in this lifetime. Easy pass.

Honestly I would snag the 2.0 if you don't already have an 89 figure. DX09 is better to me than the 2.0, but it's better to get something that's brand new over something 10+ years old especially since they will cost you around the same.

He's still actively making revisions I think. Pass him along anything that may help with likeness in your eyes. 🤙

I just want something definitive for 89 Bats

Tell him to make the eye cuts thicker, they should touch the face. Also, lips need to be closer to the nose of the cowl, too far down for Keaton.

The under eyes are too smooth on that sculpt. Maybe also give it a touch of outer eye paint roughness with some skin showing through to break it up a bit

An attempt was made..

I mean, if folks dig the Unreal cowl, more power to them. Far be it for me to knock someone's personal taste or preference.

I'm just having a very hard time understanding how it's somehow leagues above the 2.0. But hey, that's me. Live ya life, buy it and be happy. No sweat off my sack.

My 2.0 should here Wednesday, Thursday at the latest. My IMMENSE disappointment in it can only have the (hopeful) Copium effect of not being 100% disappointed when I see it IRL. As I've found this to be the case more often than not in this hobby.

I've even warmed up to Wace Mindu. Even tho I know it's off by a metric mile.

The cope is real. Do be with me again on this one, dear, dear Copium. 🙏

There's something other than the sheen of the cowl that's wildly off but I cannot place it with certainty to save my life.

What is it? I understand it looks flat, but..

Something else.

I think the HT over did it with the kneck sculpt, if that makes sense? It's too..

While the Unreal is too.. not?

Definition. One has too much, the other not enough.

I'm sorry, as disappointing as the 2.0 is for me, I'd take it over the current Unreal and that WILL NOT change until I see Keaton.

Which speaks volumes. He's got Batflecks facial expression?

Personally I like the stock 2.0 better

I am also increasingly thinking that adding texture to the cowl and suit was a purposeful artistic decision to make it more visually interesting. Notice how the light reflects off the Hot Toys cowl versus the Unreal version. By adding surface texture, even if it's not 100% screen accurate, it makes for a more visually interesting figure. When it looks too flat, like the Unreal version, it tends to look like a toy.

I think it's perfectly valid to not like the texture, but I do think it was a purposeful artistic choice.
