For some reason, I never got into the returns movie as much, so I don’t have anything from that. I liked the movie just fine, but it just didn’t grab me like the original.

Honestly, if the batwing would have come out in 1/12 first, I probably would have picked that up to go with my 1/12 bat. No complaints about the 1/6 version, and I actually prefer the 1/6 scale, but I don’t think I would have more than one batwing. I’m having the same sort of thoughts about the upcoming jazzinc 1989 batmobile. I’m sure it’s going to be way better than the HT version, but I don’t think I’ll be moving it on until I actually have the jazzinc version in hand. Along with the 1966 version, that 1989 car has always been special and I feel fortunate to have one.

Damn, there it is 1//12, Hello Joost lolol

Man how much convincing did you need? :lol

Wonder if hot toys will re-issue the 1989 Batmobile to go with the 89 Batwing.....

Probably not because there is likely not going to be a 1989 Batwing.

They‘ll probably tease it for The Flash and not release it.

JazzInc will be making a 1989 Batmobile after the ‘66, ‘95, and ‘22 anyway that’s intended to be better scaled so collectors could get that instead.

Yeah people could get that instead but once again and no offense, everyone can’t afford a 3K € batwing and a 1800€ Batmobile.

The major difference with the tease of the HT 22 Batmobile is that we never saw any physical product.
We all saw this 1/12 batwing on video.
It’s not a confirmation that it will be produced but already maybe a better chance?

Concerning the re-issue of the 89 Batmobile, I don’t see HT struggling directly with Joost on a product they already made.
Maybe they are waiting the upcoming Flash movie to update it…

Seriously, I really think HT teased with the 22 Batmobile just to test the reaction of Joost.
As they saw that Joost stayed solid, they decided to gave up and move on.
No need to struggle on the same niche 1/6 vehicle market.
But in 1/12 it’s maybe different. Different scale, different budget, different market.
There is room for both products…

Hopefully the hot toys Batmobile from The Batman will be on display at either SDCC this week, or Anicon around the 29th of July......:pray::pray::pray::pray::pray:

I don’t agree that HT teased the 22 batmobile just to test Joost. That would be an enormous waste of money. I believe they did it because they didn’t want to look like they completely missed the boat that qs/inart and jazzinc were already on. They were caught on their heels a second time, lest we forget the pattinson sculpt makeover they were forced into.

OTOH, I completely agree that there is room for both products. But again, and I hope I’m wrong, we’ve all seen that this same song and dance from HT too many times now to ignore it. If we’re all being completely honest here, not only is there no preorder, but there’s not anything even indicating it serves as more than a marketing ploy that “demonstrates hot toys incredible craftsmanship” (their words, not mine).

IMO, as a demonstration of their craftsmanship, given all of it’s shortcomings, it’s an epic failure. The competitive bar has been raised and it’s not enough to keep phoning it in. Again, just my opinion.

Blasphemy!!!!
Especially from you a-dev!
I’m not angry, I’m just disappointed 😂
It's just so big and awkward to have to factor into a display when you have so much other stuff. I bought it due to major FOMO at the time and back when I generally operated on a ''Buy, don't think'' basis. The other thing was that I had (still have boxed away) the Tumbler and I felt I couldn't have that and not have my actual favourite Batmobile.

ED-209 is probably as big as I ever should have gone with 1/6. In fact he was what started me in 1/6.

All this talk of reissuing the 89 Batmobile. I’d rather they reissue and retool the 89 Batman himself. Still my missing grail.

Tempted to get the Batwing in either 1/12 or 1/6.

Barely have space for the Hot Toys Batmobile and other vehicles (Delorean, Ecto-1) as is.

SDCC preview night is tonight! Though zero teases from HT all week has me worried 😟
It's strange hot toys haven't previewed more figures during the lead up to SDCC, like they have in previous years, but maybe they have some BIG surprises in store..........:pray::pray::pray::pray::pray:

Revealing the brand new… Iron Man recolor! And Venomized Dr. Strange!

If this does see the light of day, I hope that acrylic Batlogo display base makes it into production. That’s pretty classy looking. Love the shape of the bat.

Spoilers

The ‘89 Batwing is Batman’s main vehicle in the Flash film. The only change is the cockpit. It can rotate around from top the bottom (like a B-Wing in Star Wars) so he can fire from top to bottom (upside down). Pretty cool.

Why are people presuming their purchasing power on this? Have we not learn our lesson yet that SDCC displays does not equal commercially available for sale? We've been here before, this isn't new and I believe Sideshow mentioned something to that effect in a recent Adam Savage Tested video. I personally still remember the Power Loader like it was yesterday, saving up for that 2.0 when in actuality it was just a showcase piece.
