This is a great point: the head, hands, sometimes whole arms are designed to be popped off and swapped. This is why batteries are the only current solution. But boy do they die quickly. I was going to run a test once, to see how long I could leave them on (to determine if it was worth it to keep running them down/buying replacement batteries, in order to enjoy having them lit often), and within an hour or so, they began to dim.

I once decided to do a photoshoot with my entire IM collection. It was years back, and I had I to 7, WM MKI, Midas, Ironmonger and IM3 Tony.
I went out and bought a mountain of batteries for them all. By the time I had turned the last one on, the first ones were noticeably dimmer. I can’t even remember how many switches it was. But it’s even worse now. I saw a video on how tough Pepper’s armour is to light up. And I wouldn’t even bother lighting it up if I had it, lol.
It would be easier to photoshop the lights.

Their 1/6 IM figures have come so far that these 1/4 versions just aren't as impressive anymore. The first 1/4 Mark 43 blew my mind in terms of proportions back when it was announced. Now the 1/6 scale figures are pretty much there to match.

They need to seriously improve on the paint application for these 1/4 versions at the very least. These suits should look more like actual metal pieces of armor and not glossy plastic. They're just copy and pasting the paint work they're doing on the 1/6 version. It's not cutting it.

You’re absolutely right, I have the recent Mark IV quarter scale figure and it’s a beautiful representation, but the paint apps and technology shows no improvement over the sixth scale diecast version..

My favourite IM armour and I'm so torn about getting it. The money and space it would take up would probably mean I'd feel guilty having it and take all the enjoyment out of it.

It's beautiful. I also think people would be more excited about specific armors like the Mark 2, 7, 85, etc.

I don't like the inconsistent weathering. Arms and legs look decent but the body is exceptionally clean like the 1/6 scale. Pretty disappointing to see their 1/4 line devolving. Head sculpt looks ok.

I also have the 1/4 Mark 4, and admit that my feelings about it are mixed. There's something very cool about all the weapons being hidden in the armor itself, and not having to change looks via snap-on pieces. I feel like a kid playing again, tweaking the pose and "transforming" it into battle mode. But the material itself feels cheap since it's plastic. Doubly so when compared to handling a one-sixth diecast figure.

Hopefully the build quality and design of the new 1/4 Mark 6 is better. The wrist joints and shoulder gaps are very visible on the Mark 4, making it look very much like a toy.

It would be awesome. And incredibly heavy! Posing is hard enough in 1/4 when the figure is made of plastic. Every slight alteration makes it feel like the whole thing is falling apart.

I definitly wish that the plastic didn't scratch so easily. I use the lightest touch possible and am always careful to move smaller pieces out of the way first, but no one is perfect. And neither are these figures, for long.

Yeah they definitely feel brittle. They’re more like a hyper detailed statue than a poseable figure. Still, I love their presence.

my thought is, there's no rush to buy 1/4 because for 1. its really expensive for what it is, 2. a lot can sit for a while until there's a discount (Batman DK and Iron Mark IV has still loads of stock in HK in any of the hot toys shops), and 3. the discounts can be good at least for us in HK, the Homecoming Spider-Man is on the 50% off shelf for like 1.5k HKD (less than $200 USD).
