Looks like the arm and head can be removed from the base which creates more room for posing.

True, but I'm just trying to see a negative point, so I can convice myself not getting this right now and wait for MK45, but I think I'll lose this battle lol.

Man I don't think you want to pass on this one. You will regret it!

Hot Toys.. Nobody displays Iron Man with the back of his head showing. Please give us a smooth button at the back of the helmet for light features. I can understand taking he helmet apart to insert batteries but we don't want the switch in there.

the shoulder and waist color are wrong! hope HT can correct it on the final product! :gah:

I wouldnt use that art as the best source for accuracy. Finished CGI movie stills are the only things that will show whether or not its 100% accurate

The inaccuracy in the shoulders is correct. Surprised Hot Toys got that wrong when they have it correct on their 1/6 version. Not sure about the pelvic paint job though.

Que "It's the prototype" speech.

Still staring at the RDJ sculpt, they really nailed it this time, even at different angles it still looks like RDJ. The Arc Creation Stark was pretty darn close, if HT can re-create the 1/4 sculpt for 1/6, that's a grand slam.

Same here lol. She wanted to know why the hell do I need another Iron Man since I've MK42 (she was talking about MK7 Stealth that I preordered, imagine now) :gah::slap

We don't need a reason why lol .... they just don't understand. Maybe if I surprise her with a Harry Potter figure all will be good

As much as I don't want to get into the 1/4 scale, if they price this right, and I do mean right, then I just might get it.

For example, with the AOU Hulk I had no plans on purchasing it whatsoever. I saw the price tag and thought, "what the hell," and PO'd. Now with HT getting into 1/4 scale, I feel like with this specific piece HT/SS will go one of three routes. 1) They will show no mercy on price because they know with the AOU hype train people will pay just about anything. 2) They will make an exclusive version because it creates an itch collectors gotta scratch. 3) It will be priced to sell to get everyone who may be on the fence about transitioning from 1/6 to 1/4 within their grasp then price gauge the hell out of us on later releases.

I was originally a SS 1/6 collector myself until I the Luke Skywalker in Bespin Fatigues was released by HT. For what that set included, at that level of quality, and with the price tag it was goodbye SS and hello HT. If you want to lure people in and dominate the market, its not going to happen by always having the highest price tag. HT might still have the upper hand on quality but they will set the stage for competitors if they keep going with these ludicrous price tags. I don't know if they made a ton of money with the Bespin Luke, but from a strategic standpoint the move was spot on.

This thing looks so freakin awesome. I dont collect 1/6th or any figures...strictly statues til a month ago when i picked up the 1/4 DKR batman. That is a seriously nice piece. I am tempted to buy more 1/4 figs if they are going to look that good.

This. I'm fairly sure I know the guys who made the AoU promotional art secondhand through the Facebook community, some elements are photographs but much of that art is in fact digitally painted. It's not necessarily accurate to what'll appear in the finished film.

See also: Iron Man 3 promotional art. At no point in the film did Tony appear in the Mk 42 with an arm and half the chestplate missing and no helmet.

Can someone please explain something to me...

What is the difference between this one and the diecast one?????

:monkey4

EDIT: It's BIGGER. Silly me.
:slap

I'd agree with you but the shoulder paint in this instance is incorrect. Which is weird because they have it right on the 1/6 figure. :dunno

Minor thing though and I can't imagine them releasing the final version with it painted incorrectly.
