I can't wait to get this 1/4 42. Will look very nice next to the 43 side by side. I plan to display this with the open helmet battle damaged and the 43 clean look

In one of the photos on the previous page the proportions did look extremely off - in the others they're fine.

i'm surprised there's not much footage or pictures or anything from Hot Toys with the release of this being so near. I have it on pre-order and there's not much hype for it,the promo pictures looked amazing, and this is my first 1/4 so for the price that's being payed for it I hope it lives up to them :/

I just realised also, the Mark 42 1/6 was my first Hot Toy (technically, it was my first order, but due to Mother's Basement website which I ordered it from going completely **** up the Crow was my first in hand) and this will be my first 1/4. It all starts with Iron Man MK42 for me!

We will see a lot more once HT opens back up after the break for the Chinese New Year is over and the figure is officially released.

The eyes all have that to the left look since the entire figure was designed with a specific pose in mind. This pose. But it looks fine.

More pics...

The stand has some amazing paint and weathering for those into that over a clean look. The whole figure does too

Great flics Motu, figure looks fantastic! I'll be grabbing the deluxe edition locally (so like three months from now) -- I wasn't expecting it, but I'm flabbergasted that Hot Toys still aren't including AC plugs with these diorama bases.

Looks pretty good, except those two scorch marks on the chest on either side of the arc. Bland and out of place airbrushing, expected a bit better weathering on the paint at this scale/price (43 was well done imo), the proto looks miles better in that department :/

It's all my eyes are drawn to

In that last hs pic , the eyes seem waaay off. Maybe are the lens...
I really want this piece but I'm looking forward to use that hs without cross-eyes...

The eyes look fine, there's equal distance in the white of the eyes to the right of both the Iris'. It's the airbrush damage on the 'clean' plate that looks lazy as other people have mentioned. But I will have the battle damaged look on this, and the clean looks on the 1/6th version, then put the battle damaged head of the 1/6th on the MK43.

Anyone wonder whether Hot Toys is taking on too much at once.

I get they are the nest, and once unsee the figure in person I can tell, but HT is usually pretty good with the detailing. Usually, weathering is on the money. Maybe they are spreading resources too thin.

Well since like half the figures released in the last year end up one a lot of "best ever" figure lists I don't see them taking on to much. When they did six or seven figures a year we got Superman returns figure that looks like a 80s Ken doll, and the first mk3 and lots of figures that make no ones greatest lists...people just expect every single detail in every single figure newly released to be the best thing ever and that's just not realistic. At any price point.

They ain't great. Not saying they are. But it's also not the worst thing ever. And is something Not unlike some of the damage the suits take on screen. Not every thing that hits it is gonna tear a hole in it.

But on the other hand every time a figure comes out that's Bd there are many complaints then some of the parts look clean. It's always a no win. No matter what they do people will complain. If both chest pieces where more Bd people would get upset. If one was clean, totally, and the rest of body is weathered people complain. If the entire figure was clean people would conplain. If it's a dynamic facial expression people complain. If it's a blank expression people complain. Get what I'm sayin? You could use a BTFF shrink ray on RDJ himself in a real suit and people would complain.

There's two chest pieces and a third option for it removed. Problem solved, use the other one.
