I think the pose is a little too neutral for my tastes, and that gives the effect of action figures all lined up in a row.

The 1/4 Logan is 19 inches. The base itself is about two maybe three because of the design of it which would put the piece around 16" which would be just about 1/4 scale.

The funny thing my point had nothing to do with Wolvie or Logan just simply stating that the Colossus piece isn't 1/4 scale so since the artist is working in that medium these pieces probably fall in that same scale as well. You've done nothing but prove me right by giving me your measurements so I thank you.

All I am trying to say is that Sideshow isn't consistent with their 1/4 scale either if they are using the Marvel Directory listings as you point out. This is the point I was trying to make by bringing up the Logan PF. At 1/4 scale, he is hugely oversized. There is no way he is the listed 5' 3" as he is about the same size the Captain America.

Anyway, I'm done talking scale issues now. Let's get the thread back on track.

something definitely seems off about them...tho i do like that blue used for stealth IM.

Yeah, if I had to choose from the four, I'd definitely take the Stealth. But since I swore allegiance to Sideshow, these are an easy pass for me. Sideshow's Stealth Comiquette is still my favorite IM piece on the market currently.

So again I'm not the most up-to-date on licenses etc, but are producing and selling these statues illegal? I guess the obvious answer would be "yes" if the manufacturer didn't have written permission/contracts etc.? I'm sure this goes on everywhere, but I have a hard time believing its legal.

I'm pretty sure that it's not entirely legal, but maybe it'll open some eyes at Sideshow. There's also an Omega Red, Apocalypse, and Sabretooth in the works... all in the same scale.

Its not legal in the licensing standpoint but in reality people have been making their own custom pieces for years now. The RPF for example wouldn't exist without these kinds of people.

Even I have to admit, these pieces look really amazing especially for a "company" that isn't mainstream like Sideshow or Bowen.

Here's one with a Hulk PF to give you an idea of their size...

Yeah, that's what I figured. I'm sure this goes on all the time.

So, technically, if the seller doesn't "advertise" them as Juggernaut or IM or whoever, is there "likeness" legalities to worry about as well? Obviously to us, its Wolverine or Colossus, etc., but if it's not sold as a "Wolverine" statue, is there issues then? (I know that sounds confusing, but I think I'm getting my point across.)

Usually they sell it as what it is because in reality the naming issues sometimes crosses into licensing issues etc. A lot of times companies look the other way if they are smaller offerings which is why they don't get stopped but sometimes like WB for example stops everything and anything seen on ebay.

Oh, ok. Hence why this seller is making only 25 pieces per IM variant. (Less cost and less likely he'll get hounded by Marvel.)

Wow, that's huge. I assume that's yours Jake. How heavy is it?

Nope, not mine, but after seeing the pics I'm considering one. There appear to be two versions... one with the hands open ann one with his fists clenched.

There's something about the pose that makes it look awkward. They probably would have ended up with a better statue if they used the pose and stance of the Juggernaut maquette (from the X-Men Last Stand) that Sideshow came out with. Maybe they're reading this right now and might consider doing such a sculpt.:lol

That Juggernaut is awesome. I'd really like one of those. Isn't the Juggernaut a redhead, though? He was in the animated series.

That Juggernaut is a Bowen right?

i don't know about that. i checked the bowens that i can find and the tallest is 14' i believe.

so that jug shown above would be somewhere between 1/3 and 1/4 scale.
since 1/4 scale he should be smaller that hulk shouldn't he??
