My batteries were very weak and some were bad. Probably from sitting so long. But that is typical with cell batteries. It would not hurt to as for $20, it can fund your batteries purchase.:)

The 1/4 scale suits do make the1/6 look like toys. The proportion and thickness are better but that is complementary to PI doing the right thing and using the digital scans of the armors to make the QS figures. I'm stoked to see the Mark 42 cause they used the same process for that.

As Royce can attest, be prepared for some time getting the batteries in they are a pain in the butt. However when you get them in and light it up, it's well worth it for the view.

Got mine, unpacked it, testing lights soon, will post photos soon!

I cannot test the lights, all the batteries that came with it died - was that the same for you guys? Or have I actually got a busted IM? I will go to the shops tomorrow morning to pick up new batteries to test them. It's going to be annoying as putting them in - any tips? Tweezers?

Like I mentioned in my review open each battery compartment up by taking the screw driver and apply Pressure on the head of screw as you are turning slowly to not strip the head. Then turn on switch , then rotate the battery's with you finger. You'd be surprised that all it will take is to rotate the batteries to make contact again.

Congrats on getting him :hi5:

Sorry to hear that you have a few problems swiftwilly. I forget.. did you get yours from eBay or from justindirect? I did not have any issues with the arms on my Iron Patriot but I did have some lights that would not function until I did what lotus000 mentioned.. open the battery compartment and rotate the batteries to make contact again. I had to do that with almost all of the lights. The batteries in my shoulder mounted gun were 95% dead. I would only get a very VERY faint light so I took the batteries out of one of the boots and put them in the gun. Now that I have verified that all of the lights work I'm probably going to remove all the batteries this weekend since I wont be using the light-up functions. I will use the light up feature on the base though.

Thanks for the rotating battery tricks. I will try that tonight before I go ahead buying new batteries.

I got it from a store on eBay. They are in another city but same country.

If all the lights work I will just keep it. The process of getting it changed and back isn't worth it in my view. I'll likely have to pay for the shipping. Also on a day to day pose I wasn't going to lift the arms anyway. Die cast is heavy. Might damage the arms. So overall not too fussed.

Any tricks on getting the helmet off on the head ? Struggling.

Get your nails under the upper left section of the mask. Once you start to see separation do the same to the upper right section. Once you see both sides with separation gently wiggle it free. There is a little ledge at the bottom that you have to clear before it comes off. When putting it back on put the bottom in first and make sure that ledge catches or it will fall off.

Yours arrived! That was pretty quick. So who do you like better? War Machine or Iron Patriot? You should take a picture of them together.

I have to say Iron Patriot! I think the battle damage parts are great option for display with it and they are nicely done. They are both on par with one another but I will give the nod to IP for the additional display bits. I bookended them for now on my tv console, looks really cool. I'll replace IP with the 43 to go with War Machine and hopefully we get the Mark 42 and I can pair them together on the shelf.

The paint on Iron Patriot is also very striking and well done on the die-cast. The finish is top notch.

Ok, appreciate the tips, all the lights work by rotating them.

I will go ahead with the iron patriot now, love the quality of war machine. Just one arm joint had a problem but this is small.

I've also decided that some parts I will leave the screws out, as the flaps and armour keep it in anyway. I found the backplate and one of the arms screws were really difficult getting in and out. So i'll leave it screwless.

Quick question - what sort of screwdriver do I use to remove the batteries from the head? It is so tiny...the screwdriver that came with it doesn't work....

Photo dump! in love. Sorry for the pics if they aren't great, I never take photos...my wife takes all the pictures normally...

This war machine is from a new QC batch with the "Authorized By Play Imaginative" Window box pane that swiftwilly has.

It should help people feel better about buying pieces with no problems. Well, if comicave wants to stay in business it should be what happens.

Royce - sent you a PM on a sweet deal I found.

Yea, no problems whatsoever with War Machine apart from the joint, but I realised I was using it incorrectly and pretty much perfect condition.

found another retailer that sells iron patriot so I should get that in 1 - 2 weeks.

Thanks! I think that I may hold out in hopes that someone makes a 1/4 War Machine from the upcoming Civil War movie. Love the design.
