Don’t get me wrong that SS Luke looks like it was painted by a 13 year old in China on his 3rd overtime shift that week but the open mouth sculpt just kills it for me on the HT.

I always have the urge to stick a toothpick or cigarette in Luke’s mouth on the HT.

It's not a completely fair comparison because I darkened the teeth and inner mouth a bit on mine, but I have never seen a single shot of the SSC that would even get anywhere close to this:

Hands down best photos I have ever seen of this Luke.

That is wallpaper material right there.

But even with the painted inner mouth it still bugs me.

But holy crap those photos congrats on that he looks great there very heroic and iconic.

Everyone is going to save those photos lol

Hands down best photos I have ever seen of this Luke.

That is wallpaper material right there.

But even with the painted inner mouth it still bugs me.

To add yet another disclaimer though, I also heavily modified the body, retailored the bodysuit and extended the neck, so the stock doesn't look anywhere close to this overall unfortunately.

That's not bad! I agree that the hair on this DX is really throwing off the likeness - once that's concealed, he already looks quite a bit better.

I'm still not decided what do to now. I want the sculpt and hands, and wouldn't mind the lightsaber since I want to repaint mine to a stunt version. Getting these parts from TA will take some close attention to the updates and will run about $150 in total. Or I get the entire set for about $300, get spare parts and can sell some things off.

Doubtful I’m gonna change people mind but I personally prefer SS ROTJ Luke version better then Hot toys, I even got two and awaiting for Mando version Luke.

Figures look great together (where is the the black cloak from custom?) , although the scene really needs removable helmet Djarin too.

I made the custom Black Cape and yeah i wanted to do unhelmeted scene but didn't have spare heads sculpt for it

As I was typing that, I was already thinking "what's another $150"... It will also save me the hassle of having to watch toyanxiety updates like a hawk for a month.
I'm trying to keep my collecting expenses a bit lower than usual at the moment since we're expecting our first child in October, but with HT's backlog, the money isn't even due for another 1.5 years. So yeah, I just talked myself into getting him.

Do you have any close-ups in your thread of the darkening of the teeth/mouth? I was thinking about doing that. HT tends to make the teeth on headsculpts a little too bright.
