I like to discuss about it. New people, new post... I repeat my opinion for this new people. Now, I will wait for new pictures. It has been a very baaaad "Alien Day".

By the way, in Spain we say "vuelta la burra al trigo".

I'm most surprised by Hot Toys with absolutely nothing about it on their facebook. No new announcements, no Ripley preorder. Just the usual Marvel train.....on second thoughts why am I surprised by that. Why am I surprised by that in the ****ing slightest?

Are you really surprised though? I'm not. They always do their own thing and are seemingly ignorant to what people are clamoring for nowadays. Hot Toys has never given a crap about anniversaries that aren't their own.

They've also quit doing QnA's for what seems to be the better part of a year. Like I said before, they're more of a glorified marketing company that generates hype and publicity for superhero movies more than anything else. Innovation and selection has gone out the window. Now it's all about meeting deadlines for movie releases with barebone figures (that are mostly quick retools/repaints) and making dumb life sized statues to promote a recent trending movie that will be forgotten in 5 months time. They peaked a while ago. Why rush to get Ripley out when they have another Captain America or Iron Man 3 to get out while also concentrating on Civil War Spider-Man and Suicide Squad Joker?

Their Ripley will show up, but it'll be some random date just like it always is. All their releases pop up without rhyme or reason. It's a wonder anyone still has any interest in them, especially when you look at their current line up. It's not hard to see where their priorities lie when it comes to their licenses. Even their love affair with Star Wars seems to have come to a startling hault now that they've made most of the troopers.

I was slightly surprised. I foolishly allowed in a hint of optimism that they might come through. They learned me good and proper, meeting my faint hope with

and yet another Black Widow.

You did but Vasquez is the topic at hand and I don't want to taint that discussion with anti-Hot Toys stuff, ya know?

Also, NECA may not be the greatest and might make choices that causes me to scratch my head, but atleast they make cool stuff and surprise me every year with one or two releases unlike Hot Toys. Hot Toys has become so stale and predictable. Look how well represented the Disney licensed stuff is in that line up going as far back as August. Then look at your random Endoskeleton, Alien girl and what feels like "obligatory" Batman and Superman stuff. It's sad.

I like the sculpted hair. It looks less like a doll, and more like an action figure that fits with other HT figures.

Last year everyone was like "HOT TOYS STAR WARS, MAY 4th, BIG REVEALS, MAY THE 4th BE WITH YOU BRO, BIG MOVIE YEAR, BRING ON NEW STAR WARS 1/6! LUKE AND LEIA PLS!" and instead, Hot Toys revealed this.





Hot Toys doesn't participate in that kinda stuff unless it's a crappy teaser or "coming soon" thing. They don't care, just like with "Alien Day".

i prefer the soft hair, it looked very cool, but the sculpted is growing on me too.

but really, no pre-order or even facebook promo shots launch via facebook or anything yet? its aliens day for **** sake!

The likeness in the new one is definitely there. The 2nd sculpt was a bit too sharp in the features. The eyes on the new one are very close too. The lightning is awful and messes with things in these photos.

The hair is a toss up. I think it will look much better in the long run. The rooted hair looks a bit like what you pull out of a clogged shower drain after a few months. Weaver's hair was never as dense as that figure has. Doing rooted hair with the volume vs size of Ripley would be difficult in mass production.

I just hope they tighten up the jumpsuit tailoring a bit. She has some very cool detailed accessories, which I appreciate greatly.

Do you think it will be like 2 years ago? I mean, showing ripley and after that 2 years of silence....I want this figure...when will we be able to pre-order it?
