Re: Hot Toys: Ellen Ripley - Alien (Updated with new prototype HS)

Could you understand me, guys????? There are TWO DIFFERENT PHOTOSOPPED PICTURES made by my own. The first one is a real Weaver picture mixed over HT picture. But I'm talking about THIS ONE. It's the official picture retouched. Can you understand me NOW? THANKS.

Everything I quoted came before your new "hand" adjusted mock up was posted.

just put some explaining words directly on your pictures, it will help avoid such situations :)
when you put those beautiful pictures, it's possible to just stop reading and start staring.
there are thousands of users and hundreds of thousands of threads, if somebody monitors 100 threads instead of 2-5, he might be easily confused when bumping into the middle of the event.

I'm confused and I can't be bothered retracing my steps to figure out where the confusion started.

Re: Hot Toys: Ellen Ripley - Alien (Updated with new prototype HS)

Ok, my apologies. I put this picture with a description. If other users pick up this and put again in other place... But sorry, I want to stop this situation. My english is bad and I think is hard to me to explain all the things I want to say and my sarcasm style. Ripley is there. End.

Thanks.

hey, don't let misunderstandings affect you!
your skills are with you, you both see details and can show them. people are kind and sharing here. somebody had bad day and shared it with you, so what :D
just post all three faces together on one pic for people who follow the story to enjoy it.

Junior member with 5 posts, you need to calm down. Nobody said she's ugly, but she's no Pamela Anderson or anything of the sort. You can skip through the posts you think are negative. No need to blow a fuse over nothing.

You obviously haven't seen pamela anderson lately...

What's going on? I can't leave you a few hours alone...lol. Agromenauer has made an awesome work but that's truth that in that post, things happen so quickly. I still remind a custom of alien 3 ripley too..everybody post what they wants and in the way they consider at the moment (because we are excited for something and we want to share it). It would be a good idea however that once the excitement has passed away, to resume the pictures in one picture with 3 faces just to compare hem: real one, with ripley's face on the figure, and tunned real figure.

At the end, we will get what we will get but if someone wants to know the possibilities of the figure, they can look at this photos. Personaly I prefer to center my attention into the real one, in picture from toy sapiens that actually are the photos of the figures i will get.

Nic day:)

as much as it'd be a cool factor thing to have, I really don't have the room for it, that and the new alien as well.... :( May have to thin the herd somewhat....

There's a picture of it in the new Hot Toys catalog on the Hot Toys Community Facebook page so it looks like it may be coming along with a Big Chap 2.0. The thing is you never know since for example they showed in an older catalog the 66 Batmobile and its nowhere to be seen.

Hey, I'm sorry if you got confused and thought my Alien 3 Ripley was the new HT prototype and you still feel traumatized ;-)

Re: Hot Toys: Ellen Ripley - Alien (Updated with new prototype HS)

hmmm. wanted to think "so that how it works", but remembered that i had some batman/batmobile toys during childhood and actually liked them and the character - but ditched that branch and never was interested later. on the other hand i couldn't gain any access to robocop/alien/predator/terminator toys or movies but became and remained a fan of them. don't ask how it could happen from the beginning. i don't remember.

That's what happened with me and He-Man and TMNT. For whatever reason my need for those toys did not persist even though I had far more of those than I did Terminator as a child.....or maybe because I had plenty of them and always felt they were pretty good representations. Maybe the lack of satisfying Terminator figures back then is the very reason I went nuts buying them as an adult. I got what I wanted out of He-Man and TMNT back then but the Kenner Terminator figures fell far short.

Well, in any case, I dropped many of my childhood favourites and kept others.

My figure collecting philosophy isn't a black and white rule. And like you it would no doubt be looser if I had all the money in the world. But what I've found to be my personal sweet spot of "collecting nirvana" are figures that combine nostalgia for childhood toys with media that I can appreciate as an adult.

So GI Joe and He-Man aren't there because even though I had those toys (especially GI Joe) neither has anything meant to cater to a person over 8 years old. So they're entrenched in nostalgia (which is cool, I'm into that) but that's where it ends.

ALIENS, RoboCop, Black Hawk Down, and so on all appeal to me as an adult but they don't have any corresponding toy nostalgia. It doesn't mean I'd never get a Hicks or Murphy but again they don't have that perfect combination.

Star Wars, LOTR, and Captain America give me that throwback to toys I had or coveted as a kid but also allow me to sit down and watch SW, ESB, TFA, CA:TWS or LOTR and fully appreciate them as an adult with all of my current 41 year old sensibilities and preferences. So that's where I'm at right now. Obviously it's more a guideline than a rule and I could see myself being swayed to purchase whatever at any given time but so far that hasn't happened.
