I like this armor.

I don’t really like diecast.

I definitely don’t like the price.

But what bothers me the most is the $7.

Why is it $407?

Hot Toys couldn’t spot us $7 for a $400 figure?

Does $7 collectively pay for someone’s new designer watch? Lunch every day for someone for a long time?

They couldn’t be bothered to give even the tried and true illusion of a lower price at $399.99?

Or just a simple, honest, still overpriced $400?

I take that $7 as a middle finger to everyone. This is what we’re going to price these at. This is how we’re going to do it. We don’t care how it looks.

Thanks, Hot Toys.
Loved it.

Seriously funny... but also seriously sad/true. :(

It's a Masterpiece.

Funny...but not accurate. Hot toys isn’t charging 407. Sideshow is. There’s also an exchange rate. Hot toys is charging 2530hkd or about 323 bucks. But they did do the round numbers.

Correction.. Sideshow and BBTS AFAIK.

Exactly. I imagine they also have to adjust their pricing by forecasting twelve months ahead for trade and import prices. Trying not to get political here, but it looks like the hobby is about to get even more difficult for North American collectors. :duff

It's even more difficult for collectors in the North. Canada.

I guess Sideshow needs to balance their books after giving away plenty of $20off monthly codes...

323 -> 407.. sheesh

Oh there’s enough blame to go around for everyone involved, that’s for sure. :lol

And it’s not like HT doesn’t have an effect on the prices we pay for their products through Sideshow.

You guys also seem to be forgetting the costs of shipping these guys from hong kong to Cali. HTs increased prices, Sideshow has to in order to keep margins the same

That 7 bucks is 7 grand for every thousand that SS sells. Maybe enough to keep the forclosure or eviction from happening for another month.

But guess what Sideshow? Every time you obviously jack the HT prices up or overcharge for shipping, trying to get an extra 10 or 20 bucks out of me, you end up getting ZERO.

:clap:goodpost::clap

Keep in mind that SS overinflating retail price and shipping cost is already AFTER buying the stuff wholesale.

I have cool stuff already. I don’t need any of this. $400 plus shipping can pay for a pretty decent BBQ party. Even a new grill or whatever!

That extra $7 dollars is going towards all of the "field trip/training/go see movies together" that they do, just look at all the the movies coming out in the future that I'm sure they'll shut the office down to go see
Tomb Raider, Pacific Rim 2, Ready Player One, IW, Deadpool 2, Solo, Incredibles 2, Jurassic World 2, Ant-Man 2, Venom, X-Men Dark Phoenix, Fantastic Beasts 2, Wreck It Ralph 2, Spider-Man 2, Aquaman

Thats a lot of popcorn

Only half kidding of course ;)

Yep. And there’s how hot toys does it’s sales. Sideshow has to commit to a certain number of each figure no matter if they sell it or not. There’s the rewards point costs(I get two or three free figures a year at least) coupon costs(20 bucks each time) Halloween sales, and much more. And as I’ve said this jump is 100% in line with the jumps in the past in price between major mark suits.

It sucks that the prices go up. But it’s gonna happen. And it’s not like when a new figure comes out that’s cheaper people praise the companies as much as people blame them when it goes up.

If they had really really small margins on things one or two flops would put them out of business.

I will be preordering this, yes its a hefty price tag but I love the look of the figure, the features...I do expect though that we will get at least 3 armors from avengers 3 and 4...this one but then I bet we get the new hulkbuster at some point, a new suit perhaps at the end of this movie, and knowing the mcu, can guarantee a new suit by the end of avengers 4
