That would be a disservice to tony. I believe the EW article said it came out of the arc reactor in his chest. Im quicker to believe this is a natural evolution of starks own doing. He has been working towards this slowly over 10 yrs since Ironman 1. It should be his doing and his alone. Besides I don't think stark makes it to Wakanda until the final battle in the 3rd act..and there will be no time to talk. He'll probably be in space chasing thanos most of the film. All the more reason to believe Bleeding Edge is his design alone

Probably is his design. But the idea that in the movie he only gets to Wakanda at the end is irrelevant. Unless you think he comes up with the idea for the suit and builds it in the first two acts. Because if he built it before then he easily could have communication with Wakanda before.

This suit reminds me of Blue Beetle

So tired of hearing people say that -- the modern incarnation of Blue Beetle that you are referring to was released in 2011. The bleeding edge armour that this IM design is based off was released in 2010, a full year before DC tried to jump on the armour hype train.

After seeing the pictures and the new trailer I see this figure is really lacking in accessories. This suit can do a lot.

I'm assuming that more accessories will be included in the release-version. Sure Hot Toys will recognize that the figure with the current equipment will be absolutely incomplete.

It can do a lot. But it’s like green lantern...if it can create anything you can’t include everything. It is entirely possible they include more stuff, as they have in the past on a few releases. However, that happens like 1% of the time so it’s best not to go expecting more stuff and get mad they didn’t include it.

Still reminds me more of Blue Beetle. Especially with the wings.

Sounds like pure wishful thinking to assume that Stark had a conversation with Shuri at all and just asked her "yea tell me how tchallas nano suit works".. not to mention wishful thinking he has even seen tchalla's upgraded suit, and that shuri would share at all such a precious wakandan design ment for kings. It would clearly be something he worked on before the film, same way the 46 didnt need to be shown being made before it popped up in civil war. Not to mention the infinity war prelude comic clearly implying stark was working on the suit himself. Literally that he has to prepare on his own.

Now the comic is far from "word of God" but its just another sign leaning towards it being all stark. Without actual word that he got "help", it sounds like far fetched headcanon that he got his suit design from wakanda. And with all we have seen from stark over the course of his outings, he has been working towards this. From the suitcase armor in I2, to the armor deployment in A1, to the manual recall in I3, to even the watch that formed and materialized into a glove in CW being the biggest tease. This is just his natural step and again..would be a disservice to him if he needed "outside" help to create his magnum opus bleeding edge. While nothing is proven 100 percent confirmed till the film, I find it more than likely its his own doing.

Not sure it’s wishful thinking when it’s not something I’m wishing for, just pointing out that it’s possible. The idea that stark has built these all on his own is also pretty wishful thinking. Vanko helped his dad, who helped him. Banner helped. Who knows who else has.

My point was that just because the movie may not show stark in wakanda (the rumor anyway) doesn’t mean he hasn’t been there or talked. We know after AoU he understands that vibranium isn’t just some normal metal..between ultron and Vision he would be a fool not to research it.

Didn’t say it was probable or likely the suit design came from wakanda. Pretty sure I actually said it probably was his design. Just that it’s possible he gets helps elsewhere.

And what happened to the Vibranium that Ultron have at Sokovia, I am sure Stark might have access or salvage some of it.. he has access to Department of Damage Control

Seeing as how when Banner mentioned Wakanda for the first time in AoU and cap and stark immediately looked at each other. It was clearly implied Stark always knew about the existence of vibranium. Especially seeing as how stark had all of his father's research since IM2 and a "fake" cap shield in his lab in IM1, I'm sure he has researched it long ago before AOU.

Vanko helping his dad is irrelevant, yes his dad left him the process of a new element instead of the old reactor which was poisoning him and banner helped him make the hulkbuster purely because he was the most suited seeing as how he best knew the hulks capabilities and possible limits and how best to counter that. Of course anything is possible, but I doubt it's likely at all that stark made the bleeding edge from Wakandan help, especially with little signs like that prelude. Like i said, that civil war watch that spread and covered his hand was more than likely the beginning of this. Hell the movie probably won't even cover it with everything already going on anyway. But I do agree I suppose anything is possible. Things that go unmentioned between films is always left to the imagination

Got an email today from the local online retailer I buy all my movies and games from to say they have a 'special' reduction going of $100NZ off the listed price. That puts it at about $505US.. Now bearing in mind they ship from free within the country, and there would be no Duty added, believe it or not, that's cheaper than I could buy it from any of Sideshow, BBTS or Popcultcha.. (by the time you add those two things in) :thud:

Yikes. Can't be easy to collect down under. How much do you end up paying for the standard $220-$240 figure?

Standard figure I've never been hit with duty... So Sideshow, take your 220-240, add shipping ($40US), and convert. Popcultcha usually works out not much different. Figures generally slightly more expensive, but cheaper shipping. So I never consider even looking locally for those..

To buy those sort of figures from the two main places I know of locally without going off shore (one is a Collectibles/Toy specialist, and the other is more like Amazon) would cost between $4-500NZ depending on what you buy, and when, from either store. Thats $290US-$360US with free shipping.

Iron Man figures are really expensive, but I kinda thought after a bit of a debarkle with Customs and a big Duty fee for the Mark VI it would have almost been worth just ordering from home..

Ah ic. And I thought $406 was a lot for the Mk6. Which it is :lol, but it could be worse.
