Yeah I had one last night and didn't list it in time. I also listed a previous one. Don't know if anyone claimed it.

It’s all good. I am just glad all of us on this board were trying to help each other. Sure beats arguing. [emoji3]

That hall of armor thing looks great, I think that’s what the seller at the San Jose toy expo was using, I will probably pick one up in the morning, what’s another $160.00, lol😃

And I agree with what a lot of people are saying, I bought a code thursday for $50.00 and if I was patient could have gotten it cheaper or even without a code, but I had fun. Thursday was a bad day at work and buying that code and this strange neon iron man made me forget what a terrible day it was, well for a little bit anyways... logical? No but nothing about buying $400.00 dollar iron men dolls is logical🙂🙂 neon or not... this whole hobby is a waste of money really, but it’s fun🙂🙂so paying a bit more that day doesn’t bother me really... Hell I took my girl and her family out to eat this week a couple times it was the price of two of these neon guys, sushi gets expensive lol... and honestly I’ve had bad habits before that don’t even come close to the money I spend on hot toys, try getting into the audiophile headphone scene. Or drinking expensive scotch/tequila... What am I trying to say? 😂😂 I’m not sure exactly... but maybe if I was worried about the price of things I’m in the wrong hobby🙂🙂 of course it’s different for everyone... and of course I love a good deal, but this one was different, I never thought I’d get it unless I spent $700 plus, I saw it in all its glory last week at a con, and was talking about it for days, so I’m content, though it does suck I have to pay tax, lol, oh well

And yes sideshow is getting out of hand with shipping and going after customs...

I hope they put it up in their site and anybody who wants one can get one... oh I just dropped another $155 on the hall of armor display, thanks for that link! Guess that was the lowest eBay offer he would take, guess it’s a $600+ figure afterall, lol, crazy hobby, but fun!

I too have bought the Toys Box Neon Hangar from the same seller on ebay (same - $155 best offer) and I also paid for a code ($40). Lol.

However, I have absolutely no regrets as I know this guy is going to look incredible when lit up on the shelf.

Yup i saw the whole setup in person and thought it looked great, another user said the light would make the paint job dull, that is okay, nothing last forever, but i'm excited :):)

It’s also a black figure. Maybe some of the gloss fades but i doubt the effect is that bad.

To echo a post I made in the IW Thor thread in regards to the lighting of the figure, with some addendums:

The luminescent eyes is a feature listed on the product solicitation, however (at least as of now) no kit is actually included. You'll need to supply your own light. Which in itself delivers a new host of questions - we're taught to keep our figures out of UV light, yet this is "UV reactive", which I'm not 100% sold on as they describe it. A LOT of stuff will fluoresce brightly under low enough wavelengths of visisble blue light, but not those considered UV (and some both). For example, Luke's green lightsaber and Dr. Strange's time effects glow like no one's business with my Lifx bulb spun to blue, as do trans green and red orange Lego pieces. Neon sticky notes also exhibit this, but it's not potentially damaging UV light, as it doesn't light up a lot of UV reactive stuff, notably teeth (meaning it doesn't emit UV). So unless a LED is made to produce UV light, it won't emit it. It'll get close, like 350nm close, but not to UV. It all comes down to what wavelengths of light absorb, reflect, and excite the molecular level of the paints or plastics.

I'm hoping that HT is using UV as a moniker more than anything, as people know what that means and how that works far more than the science background type stuff. It also would make it infinitely easier to display and integrate some safe, blue LEDs into a display rather than UV ones. Black Panther doesn't explicitly say UV in the product listing, just "LUMINOUS REFLECTIVE PATTERNS APPEARING UNDER SPECIALIZED LED LIGHT UNIT" which sort of supports that theory.

I'm already seeing people on facebook with the "Got caught up in the moment, will probably sell" posts for this figure. :rotfl

Resales will probably be a loss with fees at this point, prices have been dropping. Better to just cancel. Not too many figures are like the Mark 47 anymore.
I bought it as I love Tron and Iron Man and think it will look cool in my collection.

That's funny, this hobby can be crazy like that. I was wondering how there could be so many people paying over $400.00 for a very gimmick like figure, not in the movies etc... Need to sign up on Facebook just for the action figure groups, reddit doesn't have much people posting and that's where i'm at alot... though Instagram seems to have quite a bit

That's what artificial demand will do. It seems to be a tactic used more frequently in this hobby lately.
I can't confirm it myself, but there were conflicting reports as to how well this figure was selling at whatever Asian Con is debuted at months ago. Some people said it was selling fast and they were going through quotas quick. Yet others were saying the exact opposite and that this wasn't selling that great at all and many were left on the shelves. Maybe different days, or different cons? Someone else probably know's more about it than me.

Since Thursday, I've had multiple opportunities to order this figure with codes given out from various mediums and I couldn't bring myself to pull the trigger. Partially because i'm not completely enamored with this Iron Man and I'd rather save my money for movie related figures, and partially because I don't want to give in to their scheme to make this figure seem more limited than it really is. As other's have stated, it does make sense and is smart from a business standpoint. But these things are expensive and tricking people to order something they think is a good investment for profit is kinda ****** of them. Then again, it may dissuade future scalper/flippers. I personally don't like seeing people get into this hobby for anything but collecting, but that's just me.

The groups on facebook are really the only reason I'm still on facebook at all. Reddit isn't great for this hobby, but the hot toys sub has picked up recently. This time last year is was a ghost town. Though people on there seem misinformed often, that's no thanks to sideshow and their vague and confusing information they often convey to the public.

Hype gets to some people. But my husband and I both wanted this figure and I'm super happy to be getting it. I think it looks awesome.

But does it look awesome away from UV light? I still want it but I haven't seen any pictures where it looked fantastic under normal light.

Not my photos but i think it looks fine here. It will never stand out like the red and gold but there are dozens of those suits to choose from if that is what you want. This one is for IM freaks like me.

The biggest draw to me is that this figure is in the Mark IV Diecast mold. I think the Mark IV is Hot Toys best work so far.
