was really surprised about that, I thought that with the upcoming mark 43 the sales would take a hit.

I think it did take a hit, just not on Hot Toys -- I think they've already made money and fulfilled their orders. The ones hit more are the retailers. Lots of cancelled/unclaimed pre-orders on here. Might be a while til those units get moved. Thanks to the delay of 42's arrival (Mark 42 only started arriving in our distributors late last month) and the early announcement of Mark 43, some decided to cancel/not claim and just save for the AoU version.

As for the waitlisted statues on SSC, I won't be surprised if it goes on available statues again.

Iron Patriot was gone for their site about two months, but now he is back so we might still see a discounted Mark 42 during spook.

Maybe people are picking this guy because they are not willing to shell out the extra money for the Avengers version still don't see how they can charge $ 40 more for a repaint and an different base.

Yep thats why..... also because they can, collectors seem to accept HT and their greed with open arms. I honestly would not mind the price if it was not just a lazy repaint and I don't even think its accurate

I ordered it for that exact same reason. It looks great with the Pepper head.

Anyone have paint flake off of the diecast on this guy yet? I did - from normal handling and posing, but nothing too serious. I mentioned this in another thread on the War Machine Mark II figure and was wondering what paints work best for covering the die-cast bits.

It's nice I agree with you, for me I am reviewing my purchases more closely partly because the rise in cost and partly due to repetition of the same characters.
If the change in the characters costume is an improvement or significant then I may consider buying them, however I am leaning more towards diversity of characters as opposed to multiples of the same character. The up coming Avengers movie is a prime example as I am not considering buying any of the main characters again and focusing on those that I do not have such as ultron,vision and the twins and so on. I am trying to break my habit of completing a line.
