They're really just reissuing these figures now. :slap

I had to go check their Facebook page, I thought this was a joke. "Mark 42, now with nothing!" :rotfl

Interesting to note that this does not appear to be diecast, which actually gives it some flight pose appeal. To be honest if you are able to swap in the BD parts from the DC mark 42 this wouldn't be the worst purchase ever.

It's not just the exclusive collectors that buy. It's also people new to the hobby. Not everyone was around three years ago. In fact a large number of people are new. Just look at the trends on the board. Every two years you get a near 50% turn over. And any figures sold on the secondary market do nothing to help hot toys. If people are looking to buy the figures, and are willing, you can't expect the company that makes them to not want to tap into that market. There's a new car model every year and mostly it's just a rehash. The same thing for pretty much any other successful business on the planet. It's new product and updates of old or rerelease for new customers. It's business 101

And not new. Hot toys has re released iron man figures from start. The Mk 3, the mk2, the mk4 (three times now) ect.

It says diecast on the bottom right corner.

This is, interesting.. I hope it's not an indicator that, if they do re-visit Mk1-2/4-7 in diecast, they will be extremely bare bones.

It states clearly on their Facebook page it's die cast

Agreed. I'm new to hot toys collecting but like any other collection I don't buy every figure rather just a few of which I want. I've run into space and $ issues in the past

They are tapping into a new market that is buying lots of figures. It's just like the mk4. A limited offering for a new market.

I'm not 100% but i don't recall this piece on the original. And it appears to have the updated mk43 hip articulation too

As well as the new shotgun light up face/mask feature where you have a sculpted face with lights

Those were all there already. It was part of the BD swap out parts. You can even see in that picture that the forearm alone has the BD treatment to it.

Lots of complaining on Facebook. I look at it this way. If these are being released for an exclusive market, isn't it better that they are figures already in circulation? Imagine the outcry if they were unreleased figures. Unique HPP suits that you could only get in very small numbers from a certain place.

Completely agree Kiwiatlarge. Especially hard to get figures down in New Zealand and Australia.
I don't understand the out cry to be honest.
Why wouldn't they release big sellers into a new area? It's common sense.
Why complain about a figure that you wouldn't by if it was released at ssc?
