I never took offense. Saying "I'm broke" is a figure of speech. Like when someone says they play the lottery they're always broke because they never win. :)

You know why the jackpot for the lottery is so high? Because so many people consistently lose and add to the overall total. :lol

No one seems to get that part.

Actually there is also tax that goes right back into it and everything you buy after that is also taxed so its win win win for governments and a very small handful of players

Oh, I know that some (maybe a lot) here do VERY well. And I forget that there are some that live with their parents so probably have disposable cash up the wazoo. So I really am kidding that everybody who fills their shelves with HT figures has to go into debt.

Makes you wonder though! :lol

Oh it's certainly a fine line! lol. I think most of us love this hobby so much there are times when we go a bit far. I think it's just knowing your personal limit and what you really need vs a passing fancy.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys MMS 186- Avengers: Hulk- official specs and pics

I see. Try to compare the complete package. Jake doesn't just come in a skinny body with a loincloth and an extra pair of hands...

I have that kind of money to spend each month on figures. :nana:

Ha that is great. Even if I didn't have other things to take care of I doubt I'd ever buy that much in toys though. BTW does Hot Toys make appliances??

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys MMS 186- Avengers: Hulk- official specs and pics

The world loves their credit cards.:panic:

To have a disposable income of $2000 cash in one quarter everyone must be a doctor, pilot or bank manager (or a drug dealer).:lol

We do very well as a family income goes but the only way I can do it every month is with my part time job that is not part of our family budget. We pay all our bills and I can spend my part time income on whatever I want which is Hot Toys for the most part. This works for us.:wave

Preordered.. bring on that overpriced ugly green gummy-armed greatness. Can't not have it. If Hulk gets do-over, will consider trading up. Hulk 2.0 must come with volleyball, net and visor...

Right, which is why he's only $15 more than Hulk. I'm saying these two oversized figures even out in terms of value; with Jake Sully the money's going into the accessories more than the body (which is very skinny), while with Hulk you're paying for the sheer mass of the figure itself.

This photo looks like he's holding an invisible boulder. I can't remember if Hulk threw anything in the film, but ONE accessory for him to hold would have been nice.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys MMS 186- Avengers: Hulk- official specs and pics

That's right, the money is paying for the sheer size of the figure. I'd say he's easily the equivalent of two 12" figures in terms of mass. Jake Sully isn't a really a fair comparison because he's so skinny; he's tall yes, but there's not much to him.

very cool dio but hulk should be grabbing a large boulder or car or motorcycle to throw at loki or something still very cool dio ...:clap

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys MMS 186- Avengers: Hulk- official specs and pics

Yeah and the small and detailed accessories must cost more to make than the big body of Hulk. Not to mention the painting that goes into that. The Jake Sully figure is a much more complex figure than Hulk. Just take a look at some photos of it.
I don't disagree one bit. But as I said, with Hulk you're paying for the sheer mass of the figure.

(To respond to myself) In this clip alone Hulk uses two different chunks of metal as a weapon; it would have been nice if they'd have included something like that for him to hang on to (27 second mark).
