I don't disagree one bit. But as I said, with Hulk you're paying for the sheer mass of the figure.

(To respond to myself) In this clip alone Hulk uses two different chunks of metal as a weapon; it would have been nice if they'd have included something like that for him to hang on to (27 second mark).

Such a great clip, thinking the sounds in this BluRay will be epic. I love the Iron man Ultimate Alliance fusion-style blast he gives CA's shield to take out multiple Chitauri.

The dio pic from Anicon you posted conveys the pure size of the figure in respect to the others perfectly. Wow :google

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys MMS 186- Avengers: Hulk- official specs and pics

Would people have preferred a second hulk sculpt, multitude of different hands, a diorama base and have HT charge $400+ for this guy?? And then they would ***** about the price being so high.

I'd pay extra for that. But since I'm a Hulk fan... I'm biased anyway. :monkey3

But what people seem to be forgetting is this is a much larger character/figure. Its not a standard 12" character. And its a fully new tooled body. The price should be expected. And when people were throwing out stupid astomically guestimations like $460-$600 prices (WHAT?) then the $300 obviously looks pretty reasonable.

Im sure when people have him in hand they will realize where that extra money went. Hes ****ing HUGE.

EDIT: HULK was NEVER going to come in at $200. That was a wet dream. Those that expected that should be disappointed.

I think his size is what drove the price way up. I'm sure he'll be heavy too. Had he been a regular sized figure which is bare bones, then he'd probably be around $180.

I like the figure for the most part. I've stated previously that Hot Toys' prices have gotten a bit out of hand in general.

My only real problem with this figure is the arm articulation choice. I think figures with joints on muscle bodies have looked fine up to this point and that would have been my preferred design choice. However, since so many collectors seem to want the seamless look, I would think it would have been better to just have plastic arms without articulation. The range of movement is so limited that it doesn't make that much of a difference anyway.

I would have preferred that. At least we wouldn't have any worries about PVC/rubber deterioration.

If you calculate the weight of the figure I'm pretty sure more material will have been used on the Hulk than on Jake which would probably justify the equal price tag.

:exactly:

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys MMS 186- Avengers: Hulk- official specs and pics

Yes, but it's not like it costs them more to make it because there's more plastic that goes into it. It's the detailed parts, painting, sewing of clothes and patterns that costs a lot to produce. Jake is full of that.
Well actually more plastic does cost more money, but you're right that the man-hours involved is the real expense. But the larger the figure, the more time it takes to paint, so there's that.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys MMS 186- Avengers: Hulk- official specs and pics

All I know is that when this thing ships next year, I WILL HAVE IT ON MY SHELF!

I like the figure completely. I would've like a second HS and a stand, but it not coming with either isn't going stop me from getting it. ESPECIALLY since it is $50 LESS than I thought it would be.

As would I.... Hence, I think we may possibly see an exclusive variant down the road.

Also I want to add that Im not arguing that I wouldnt havent liked an extra roaring Headsculpt or a gripping hand or a cool diorama base, but if that were to add more to the cost of this thing then Ill just rather take the bare bones at a more affordable price.

I'd rather pay the extra $50 for the extra goodies. Its the HULK!

:exactly:

I was expecting this guy to come in AT LEAST Jake Sullys price. I was thinking $300 (hopefully) $325 probably. $350 at most. And I was surprised it was $300. And with the $30 NRD and me using $40 in Rewards Points its like getting this guy at $230 when shipped! Thats cheaper than what Im paid for my DX08 or DX09! That works for me!

Plus if I wait for an Avengers 2 version or Hulk 2.0 with more stuff be sure it will be EVEN MORE expensive than this intitial release. (Look at DX01 versus DX11 or DX02 versus DX12 in price comparisons, Practically $100 increase in price since those first two were released). Hulk 2.0 with extra head and Base? $400 EASY.

And people will ***** and moan then too. And Ill be smiling with my Hulk on my shelf.

Since the sequel is at least 3 years out, I'm sure the TA2 Hulk will be more expensive by then. However, just imagine what the value will be for this Hulk when that time comes.

Its harder said than done, but the more the prices go up it forces a collector to become more selective. Or go broke. :lol

Which is why I'm basically sticking with TA and the 3A Halo. I may get some other stuff here and there but nothing hardcore.

Indeed!

But I do have to say between SS and HT they are fullfilling my Movie Figure wish list pretty quick so I might be able to cross them all off before prices get too ridiculous! :lol

Amen to that! I'm very happy with their latest releases. :yess:

No luck so far.:gah:

Almost at that point. Have to be very, very selective now.

I absolutely LOVE your new avatar and signature Greygoose!!!! :bow

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys MMS 186- Avengers: Hulk- official specs and pics

To have a disposable income of $2000 cash in one quarter everyone must be a doctor, pilot or bank manager (or a drug dealer).:lol

I was wondering that myself? :dunno

Flex pay is an amazing thing. Plus, some extra tax return helps too. ;)

Oh and the wife and I do very well for ourselves as well, and we dont live in a mansion.

Tax refund is what I usually hold on to for things like these.

NO credit cards for toys here. But I LOVE flex play!

That indeed helps. Thank you SS!

Im done and will say I don't have 2K to spend on toys....if it wasn't for that house and wedding ring dawgonnit!

Neither do I but I do save cash here and there. Like yourself, I have bills to pay and a family to feed.

Hulk smash!

:clap:panic:

We do very well as a family income goes but the only way I can do it every month is with my part time job that is not part of our family budget. We pay all our bills and I can spend my part time income on whatever I want which is Hot Toys for the most part. This works for us.:wave

Which is also what I do. I work extra and I work hard for it. Hence, I do reward myself with things like this. :wink1:

This photo looks like he's holding an invisible boulder. I can't remember if Hulk threw anything in the film, but ONE accessory for him to hold would have been nice.

You did forget one other thing...

Little over a month away! :impatient:

:exactly: And most will pay up because it's Hulk regardless.

Like me. :monkey3

I loved everything mentioned in your list. I think Planet Hulk was my favorite followed by Hulk vs. Wolverine.

What I remember and miss terribly is the old 1981 Incredible Hulk cartoons. Those were great as a kid, probably not so great now, but would be some fun nostalgia. :)

Agreed!!! :clap

[ame]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ftpEYcwQrcc[/ame]

Nope. Those are the 90's ones, which I didnt care much for. The 80's ones had more of the feel of the Hulk IMO.

Neither did I. Those just didn't click with me. Maybe the She-Hulk was too over the top for me. Don't know... Just don't know..... :dunno

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys MMS 186- Avengers: Hulk- official specs and pics
