Agreed , no Hot Toys Vader , or any other figure for that matter by hot toy or anyone else , will look 100% accurate without work. They are after all as my wife puts it ---- "Just Toys " .

Action figures are not just toys, they are extensions of the movies that we all adore and love! :D

Wow, what an incredible shot! Is yours stock or have you modded it? Something about the legs look a smidge better proportioned in your photo than they look on mine, but I can’t tell if the thigh is actually a touch longer or if it’s just a combination of pose and futz.

Edit:
I think I’ve figured it out. Comparing your pic to my figure (and assuming yours is on the stock body) it looks like you’ve got the cod piece just a touch higher than mine which makes the thigh appear a tiny bit longer, which has a surprisingly powerful effect on how “Prowse-like” the figure looks... guess I’ll be futzing again next chance I get. It’s been a few weeks since I last messed with him and I’ve been needing an excuse to get him down and play w... um... er... *re-pose* my t̶o̶y̶ *high end collectible*. :hi5:

The body is all stock...i bend the knee on it's lower joint..as it makes the upper leg/thigh look longer and better proportioned.

Pushing the cod piece up a tad helps too..

When I was fixing the outfit and putting the batts, I noticed the material of the inner suit is the same material HT use for hellboy etc which will crack and flake inevitably in no time. Have you guys figured out any solutions to prolong the condition or maybe we should start commissioning someone to do the inner suit?

If a pricy figure like this starts falling apart in just a few years I'll just sell all my HT stuff and never look back, at least my main collectibles, antique swords will outlast me :wink1:

Hmmm... The ANH version has been out for some time, with zero reports of flaking (to my knowledge). I suspect this will last.

I just read that baby oil works well to prevent faux leather from cracking or flaking. Since our wonderful miniature Darth Vader's don't go out in the sun they should be alright.

Yes, first ANH Vader was out for nearly 5 years and i havent seen any reports of flaking so far yet (at least to my knowledge)...

So I was just thinking... while this figure has an awesome feature with the helmet removal and all the little details underneath, Is anyone going to find some way to actual display this piece to show off those details? I can’t help but think that the hemet removal feature is a bit useless.

Personally I would use a specific protectant for pleather, or something like mink oil. Amazon sells a good faux leather protectant.

Though I probably won't display him without the helmet, I'm holding out for ROTJ Vader with removable helmet to reveal old Anakin; hopefully HT makes that one.

Nice pose!

I put a bit of padding on mine between the shoulder and the cape to level out the cape. I feel like when it came stock the cape droops awkward down his shoulders.

They will make a Return of the Jedi Darth Vader with an Anakin head and it will be in 1/4th scale available October of this year.

Nicely cut, it doesn't drag on the ground anymore. Do you make versions for any of the other HT Vaders?
