Look at that friggin dome...it’s laughable plus he was built like an Ent...tall as a tree.

I’ll take the HTs one any day over this.

Exactly. Can't belive someone is taking SSC Vader dome as comparison, considering that is the wrongest wrong of that figure and is watchable only from a bottom POV...just look at the second picture posted, from the front....ludicrous. And I'm saying that as a possessor of both SSC Vaders, both dome swapped now because of the eyesore. Many people don't realize how big the dome is...an average tall person like me (1,80cm) looks like Dark Helmet with a prop on.

It’s strange that some are accepting of the non-full reveal (because it’s accurate to the film) and are also accepting of the grooves (eyesores, imo)in the front of the mask (not accurate to the film). Me thinks some are looking at this Vader through amber tinted lenses. [emoji6]
I do think of all HT Vaders, although a very nice figure, as it looks now, it’s the least accurate. I’m guessing that they just haven’t gotten around to making the new dome yet, as well as getting rid of the placeholders ( like the Rogue One boots, ANH dome).

The scars/indents under the eye lens are present and the eye lens look to be better scaled as well. (They're over scaled on the ANH/R1 masks). For me the nose plug was a bigger issue which thankfully looks to be corrected.
I agree that the helmet is just place holder and will be corrected before production. And then there's always the ROTJ version to look forward to for the full reveal look. Personally i'd love to see HT make a vader with diecast parts... IMG_2200.jpg

I'm assuming this is an ESB Vader. The chest box matches ESB, not ROTJ.

And this promo image would seem to support the ESB vibe.

If you look at the description, SS actually says this is from ROTJ https://www.sideshowtoy.com/collectibles/star-wars-darth-vader-sideshow-collectibles-1000763/

I don't have this one, but I thought it was just a slightly tweaked re-release of their ultimate vader, only without the removeable helmet, helmet holder, and the base. I guess it could be just an error in their item description.

I don't know how I missed the fact that the Hot Toys site has a bunch of different pics of this figure. In any case, I think maybe how the dome sits on the mask affects how big it looks relative to the face. Kinda like an optical illusion. In one image, the dome seems too big by leaving too much space between it and the mask. Then, in the very next photo of the slideshow, the dome seems much more aligned and properly sized from a very similar angle. Maybe it's dome placement, maybe it's lighting or camera angles, or maybe I'm just seeing things that aren't there. Whatever; the pics with the Bespin backdrops look amazing!

I should learn to just trust Hot Toys to get this helmet right (and assume that the pleating can be futzed with to not seem as uniform as window blinds).

I've heard from another collector who POed from KG that they have crazy shipping rates to the US. I'm guessing that whatever they charge for shipping on top of that nice price is what stateside dealers will be selling it for. Maybe $290-$300 :/

Ordered.

Battle Damaged Luke will get the base. And it's reminded me I should get the weather vane out and set it up below the shelf that will have Luke.

When I start going through the checkout process on kg hobby I am offered two shipping methods, registered airmail via Hong Kong post for $28 or ems airmail for $53 and they offer 3% discount if paid in full upfront. I will be curios what price it sells for here in the U.S.
