I agree. I'm probably gonna get crucified for saying this, but I own DS and I am not terribly impressed with it. Sure the cloak is nice and the design is elaborate, but there's something about the headsculpt that seems slightly off...

Still a solid figure, but def. not my favorite out of all the ones I own. :dunno

I don't think you're missing out by not owning it. You may just be swept up in IW-mania and a bit of FOMO for not owning it at this exact moment. Just be patient and DS2 will definitely see another release.

Great time to get rid of it.

I'm beginning to think I'm one of the few people who bought it because they legitimately enjoyed the movie haha

Haha I bought it because I enjoyed the movie and the figure. I just happen to think it's not the end-all, be-all figure. I don't plan on parting with it unless the 2.0 version blows this one away.

I bought this from my local comic store during a 20% off Black Friday sale, so I got it for $228. Seeing these prices are crazy to me. It's one of my favorite toys, but being able to buy two figures for the price of this one, darn, that is tempting. Still, I loved the movie, loved the packaging, and considering the price at the time, it seemed like a no-brainer to me.

Yeah I get it, but I know there's plenty of people out there willing to pay more than that for it. That's how the demand is for sold out hot toy figures, especially for a pivotal character. I love the the figure but it's no where near my favorite, If it was Black panther, Killmonger, or Warmachine that would be a different story..

Well with greedy Hot Toys you can be sure they will release another DS soon to get their hands on the money they see this going for. Better strike while the iron is hot and make your money by selling soon.

I never seen the Dr. Strange movie. I don't know if it's on TV yet. I will see it eventually on TV. I got the figure because I liked the look.

So if they were to make another DS figure, do you guys think he'll wear a similar costume, or a brand new one. I know that in the comics he's worn several but obviously this version is the most iconic, and it would be shame to have missed out on it.

I loved the movie too but I bought this figure because I love the head sculpt and look of his costume.

It is hard to predict Marvel's costume choices because sometimes they will go with something similar (like Cap in AoU and CW) or totally different (like Hawkeye's different looks). But I definitely think that this version is the most iconic so I did not hesitate to buy this version.

I don't know but i would not be surprised if they changed it. He has had the same basic look in 3 films and that has to be a record for Marvel

Well dang, It's not looking too good then. I never followed Doctor Strange much in the comics, so the only other costumes I know from him are the ones from Ultimate Alliance:rotfl.

Marvel usually starts characters in classic/iconic outfits and gradually stray away from that with each costume change. So this probably is the one to get.

If I were running HT I would think it's a good business decision to re-release Dr Strange with just having a new base for IW maybe a bloodied sculpt instead of regular and call it good.

Regardless, given the popularity of the character and that has been kicked into hyper drive by IW I would all but guarantee another HT Doctor Strange.

They should do a re-release with a new sculpt and new accessories. Like the sword and the red rope things.

In his most recent interview (like a week or so ago), Howard Chan stated that characters
like Starlord and Dr. Strange would not be getting Infinity War releases, since their costumes
were the same as the last versions to come out for each character.

I think the best case for a new Dr. Strange release will be his second movie (when/if that happens)...
and that is going to be quite a while from now.

His vestiments are pretty much the sorceror's garb. They cape of levitation won't change. Eye of Agamotto won't change. The original costume kicked a55, so they may not change it. The sorcerors were kinda buddhist monks, basic garbs.
