...seems like They forgot to make hands for him and then remembered the day before shipping ;-) Just a huge difference in quality from the rest of the figure.

Got mine today. It is super awesome and leagues better than the 1/4 version. One of the nozzles on the left kneepad fell off so I glued it back on. Be careful when taking him out of the box so you don't lose the piece if is loose.

Also the jet pack is super hard to get on.

I gotta rank this figure as one of the best SW ones to date. Jet pack was a hassle, but compared to the sandtrooper, it was easy.

Boba arrived today! Not enough space for a dynamic pose so this will have to do.

Swapped out the Hot Toys rifle for the Medicom. The Medicom has a thicker barrel, which is more accurate. The skinny barrel of the Hot Toys version has always bugged me, going back to the prototype photos.

Haha - I was just thinking that yesterday, Rubio. Didn't want to post it for fear of being too "picky.":lol

I noticed it because unfortunately I closely matched by Marmit/Hasbro hybrid custom rifle to the HT one. Then realized the HT one was too thin.:gah::rotfl I did add some "rust" to it like the prop one that the HT needs a bit of.

It is weird though - in some ref pics the ROTJ Fett rifle does seem thicker and in others thinner. I was trying to think if it might have been a stunt vs hero difference or just lens distortion, but my understanding is all the ROTJ rifles were just casts from the same mold (none were metal like the ESB one.)

You never cease to amaze, Bane!

Yes, the RotJ rifles were all cast from one master. However, the 'stunt' rifles were cast in rubber, so there MAY have been some shrinkage. It's possible that the rifle displayed with the touring costumes are slightly smaller in the barrel area, but it's impossible to say. I have quite a few photos of the screen-used stuff, so I'll try to locate them for comparison.

But here's the thing: the 'solid' rifles had a mechanism for the exploding barrel (when Luke slashed the blaster) that were not featured on the stunt rifles. The explosives were triggered by a mechanism housed within the rifle stock, which led to the screws that are visibile in certain shots. The Hot Toys rifle features these screws, whereas the Medicom rifle doesn't, so that's a wash.

I have the Mater Replicas rifle, and it resembles the Medicom rifle much more so than the Hot Toys. Here's a quick cell phone pic. The barrels are lined up, so it's easy to see the difference in stocks (Medicom on top, Hot Toys below):

It's that scene where it seems thinner - the frame grab from just before Luke cuts the rifle is where it does look like the HT rifle, but you'd think explosive would be the thicker barrel, not the thinner one. I did some googling the other day for "thicker barrel Fett ROTJ rifle" but it was all just standard ESB vs. ROTJ stuff. It's possible it's just lens distortion.

But hey, I'm just trying to make a pretty accurate ROTJ Fett for $50 (should be finished this weekend) and becoming an honorary junior Fett scholar while I'm at it.:lol You Fett guys are impressive in the depth of knowledge though.:clap

I noticed in that ref pic of the Fett costume laying down in the LFL archives you can see the original darker bluer dyed color visible under unexposed parts of the jumpsuit.

And Medi gun also has the rust color, or did you add that?

My rifles are totally stock.

And I mentioned the blue color of the flight suit in the 1/4 Fett thread, but cats weren't hearing it lol!

As for your Fett, would you mind giving a rundown of all the parts used? It looks pretty sharp.

Got a chance to put this figure out on display, really loving this over the SSC Fett in every way. Quick question - anyone else's ankle spats velcro not sticky enough? I can get the spats back on but there's a bit of slack on the velcro ends because that part won't stick properly.

Question for those that already own the Sideshow Fett. Is this worth the upgrade?

I can see some minor deeper details and paint on this version, but the Sideshow version is already a pretty awesome figure that I'm fairly happy with. Can't decide if it is worth the $250 for an upgrade.

Right now I'm leaning towards just replacing a few items on the Sideshow version once this gets parted out. Hands, feet, and gauntlets.

Yeah, mine isn't great there either.

The misalignment of the chest armour is bothering me, but it seems 90% of people have the same/similar issues?
You can kind of pull the shirt around to reposition the chest armour a bit- and looking through screen shots from the films, it looks like the panels moved around a lot anyway, so I guess you could call it 'accurate'.

Other than that, I love the figure- it's made me prefer the ROTJ look to the ESB look.
I think some may be underwhelmed because we've had so many Boba Fett figures over the years?

I think it's a pretty significant upgrade yes. But the SS is still a very nice figure,so guess that it's only worth it if you can spare the money. You'll have a nice Fett either way. But if you end up replacing parts, one thing you shouldn't buy from the HT is the hands...

Very quick picture. He arrived a few hours before I had to leave on vacation. The entire range finder piece was detached from the helmet when I opened the box but it just clips back on. Everything else was OK.

Sent from the Death Star communication division.

Just spoke to my local shop, they are expecting their delivery in June. Hurry up, I want my Boba!
