Sorry to hear you had such a bad time. I have watched it 3 times in the theater and countless times on dvd since then. Will most likely do the IM3 marathon 
and see it for a 4th time on the big screen.

I'll try and make it short,
I got to the theater 40 minutes early and found great seats, no one was sitting next to me, the movie started and two enormous (weighing at least 350 Lbs. each) people too big for their sets sat right next to me stinking like they haven't bathed in a week and sweating like they just ran to the theater from their home. If that wasn't bad enough the guy sitting next to me also was the loudest person in the theater quoting every line he heard and wouldn't shut up during the movie.
I should've changed sets but all the other sets were bad and I was too pissed off and stubborn to move.
I wanted to get it on Blu-Ray but I've been holding out for the version that'll contain all the deleted scenes that wasn't in the first Blu-Ray release. The Phase One Avengers Assembled box set seems to be that version, I'll have to save up for it though.

I would've left and got a refund. Seen it later when it was less busy.
Yeah but that was my window for seeing it. I could've came back a couple of weeks later but there was something else I wanted to see.
Suffice to say that I haven't seen a film opening weekend during the matinee since then. All have been during the midnight showing at least a week after opening.

They also need to understand that they're going to take up more space so get there early and take two seats, if you can't do that and there isn't two seats for yourself available, walk back out the theater and try again next time.
Also all people need to start respecting one another and be courteous to their fellow theater goers by being aware of how they're effecting those around them.
I can't tell you how many kids have repeatedly kicked my seat behind me or some a**hole had to text on his ultra bright phone throughout the film in front of me. unfortunately this isn't really a new problem.
