Looks like they are casting a second male villain for Thor 2, we dont know who they are going to portray yet. I hope this isnt going to be one of those deals where the main villain [Loki] is forced into a reluctant alliance with the heroes, in order to defeat a greater common enemy.
Loki has been misunderstood and angsty, now he's a complete and total antisocial bad@ss and I say we keep him like that. I'll be there watchin' regardless, though.

Yeah, Mads Mikkelsen. He's an exceptionally good actor. I think he'd be great in a number of roles. I'd like to see him cast as something besides a villain, but he does play a wonderful villain.

I was hoping we were gonna get Enchantress.... o well.
I wonder if we are going to see a version of Loki's snake-venom punishment? Think working Sigyn in at this point would be alot of backtracking...

The Enchantress would be amazing, and it's not a new rumor so you never know. I would not like Mads Mikkelsen in the role of Executioner though, that would be a waste of his talent and like casting and apple as an orange. Executioner rarely talks, he's like Arnold as the T-800 in T1, lol. Now, I don't see why Enchantress can't be introduced in Thor 2, or be working for the main villain.

As I said b4 - helmet is oversized and doesn't sit perfectly. Not a big deal in this case I gues.
They had to make two separate sculpts for such a characters. Works for AVE Cap...
But MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN this head sculpt is great!

Someone over in another thread was suggesting that sculpts as good as Loki's raise expectations too high, and if we got rid of these really great sculpts, people would be happier with everything else.

Yes I read that too. I think what actually happens is that such sculpts do raise expectation to a high level...but that's just life!
Some artists are better than others, some might have a bad day, or be rushed to a finish etc etc, and none of this seems to be taken into consideration.
It's like the Ref making a bad call during a big game. It gets you irritated and you shout for a bit, but it does not stop you from watching the rest of the match, or indeed the match the very next week...it's all part of the charm. Some are OK, some are good, some are great and some are brilliant.

I agree with the last several posts entirely.
I do believe if the artist is being rushed then they should just slow things down. I'd rather wait longer for a higher quality sculpt than have one now that could have been much better if we had waited an extra month or two.

I think we have a goodly portion of people who would not be happy if we actually hit the actor in question with a shrink ray and then cloned him. For real.
I also feel that honey catches more flies than vinegar. if I were running a company, i'd be way more responsive to polite requests as opposed to "OMG WTF THOR LOOKS LIKE BARNEY RUBBLE!!! ZOMG HATE!" - people need to ratchet it down a notch or two, completely agree.

That's just good marketing and smart business. When a new movie comes out, so do the fanboys. Watch the prices on eBay alone. Whatever is hot that moment is through the roof. In a few months when Batman comes out, the prices on all that stuff will skyrocket and we'll be picking up Avengers stuff for half of what it is going for now.
As an example from HT's point of view: Maybe as a dedicated collector I want a new GI Joe. As a marketing exec at HTs I know that. But I know there are a 1000 of me and 100,000 fanboys screaming for Avengers. Not to mention, the possibility of gaining a few new junkies in the process. Which am I going to make first? Yeah, they want to keep the long term dedicated collectors happy but they know they will wait. Am I not going to buy the new Joe when it comes out because I'm pissed off the Avengers came out first? No. Does that give me the right to bash the other stuff they are making? No.
It also seems to me that when something is made for the collectors, it's much better craftsmanship then the stuff pushed out to feed the masses. Does anyone really think one of these fanboys is going to buy a comic style Iron Man? Heck no. They didn't even know it was IM from the picture or think it looks "funny". But to the serious IM fans, that piece is exceptional and well worth the wait.

My understanding is that (and though it is far from authoritative, but I'll put a spoiler block for those that are hyper sensitive to such things)
That makes perfect sense to me, especially if they are going to stick with Asgard OR play around some more with Thor and Amidala. Honestly Thor has a pretty ____ rogues gallery once you get over the bifrost, so may as well stick with the Asgardians.

I collect BATMAN, SUPERMAN, SPIDER-MAN, JAMES BOND so my tastes are being well cared for...but I don't really see the point of truly bashing things I don't collect. Things like Metal Gear Solid or G.I. Joe for example. Not for me, but fair play to those that do. I'd even go as far as to say that they look quite spectacular (well, except for BOSS, who seems to be having a problem with her chesticles).
