Some would argue that the DX Jack Sparrow has one of the best likenesses of any figure.

Some people would turn anything into an arguement!
Seriously, though, the sculpts for the faces are getting so incredibly good now.
The Hot Toys people are truly turning these things up to 11 now.
It's spooky how realistic the Don Cheadle AU headsculpt is.

This is great!

I think this is the only major figure that most people are really happy with right now.

Batman, Bane, Iron Man, Spiderman, Thor, Black Widow, Rescue Captain America, Etc........people are going to war over some major and minor things.


I drop in here and to see how Loki is doing and all is calm

It's a nice change and I am really looking forward to having Loki on my shelf in a few months, he looks awesome!!

This is going to be an EPIC figure, no doubts. That face sculpt has more-or-less guaranteed its status as a No:1 fan favourite.

But with all that, I can foresee a possible problem. Well not so much a ful problem as such, more of a problemette...

The intricacy of the costume. Just look at how complex, multi-dimensional and layered it is. I suspect the thing that will cause a few 'come backs' will be that fabulous costume.

It took me a second and third glance sometimes to determine if I'm looking at the toy or a movie still! My vote thus goes to Loki as the most realistic sculpt made so far!

The only tiny niggle I have is that It's shame there isn't a tall, but slimmer then your average HT body that he could have gone on.

I can say Loki is a strong candidate for FOTY

It's going to a be close run thing, I'd say that for the top three of 2012 there will be LOKI and....who else?

Red Skull maybe, not Keaton Batman imo. I think Loki still wins over both anyway, the Red Skull proto was a lot better for Schmidt's likeness imo

That helmet is too big. In my mind, they could have easily made a sculpt of the head with no hair and made the helmet the correct size.
It's not that big of a criticism. But it ruins it a bit.

Keaton, yes definitely the Keaton '89 BATMAN DX. I'd thought that too but as I am a huge mark for BATMAN I wanted to see what else might be suggested.

So, for the first half of the year then...contenders:

The '89 BATMAN DX
The AVENGERS LOKI MMS.

Lots of people on these forums wish their biggest gripe about a figure they're waiting for is that the helmet was a smidgen too big. See the HT Spider-man 3 figure thread. Yeesh.

I don't really see this helmet thing being an issue, but tastes differ.

No. It's not a big issue, but it's a shame they couldn't have fixed it.
I understand this is the "everyone loves Loki" thread, but i was only stating an opinion on the size of the hat.
No need to take it personally.

Or in an ideal world maybe one head with the helmet as a part of it, and one without.
