Ya, but they have the mold and everything in place. Without a numbering system what is stopping them from putting out 100,000 out the bad door?

I own 4 HT items so far and I like them. One thing that I found out long before I started to collect these items (or even known of SSC) is to much goes out the back door. It's not stealing they make them. I just feel sorry for the people that think. Hay I will buy a Loki now and sell it for 4xs what I paid or it (ok 20xs) but in the long run they will be lucky to get back what they paid for it.

I watch this all the time. I'm sure Loki will look great just as all the rest of HT items still.

I too am glad that I have mine on PO. But they just upped their requirement numbers last time, and I am fairly sure that this is what they will do again this time.

No matter how much we might like it to be otherwise, there is no such thing as exclusivity with HT anymore really - there has not been for a long time now - but I wish that they would just leave it at this second production run. That way they have sold out two complete runs of a single product, and the fans are left still wanting a bit more...which should be a mantra, 'Always leave them wanting more...'

Sadly though, the SSC own description of the piece as "Limited Edition" we know, actually really means "Limited (To The Total Number Of Pieces That We Can Actually Eventually Sell Of This) Edition" And this says one thing very clearly.

HT no longer knows the difference between 'Having a captive audience' and 'Letting the whole world see that you know that you have a captive audience'

I don't know if they still do this or not. "The Killing Joker" was on of the last big comics I sold. I had order 500 of them and had a number of places not want them (They where burn on Death of Superman and Spiderman). I took them to shows and sold them for $75 each (after they went up and everyone then wanted their orders). Not more then a week after I sold all but 5 (still have those). DC put out a 2nd run. Only the cover was not the same color (also said 2nd printing or run inside). Not more then a month or so after that, a 3, then a 4th. I think there is even a 5th run. But they are not the same cover (the 1st print is purple).

I seen that HT does also seem to do this but put a 2.0 version on it. They also seem to make them better then the 1.0. But what about the people that own the 1.0 where is the love. Same goes with anything SSC is making that is not a PF. They are not number. Still wondering how many Yoda Huts (my GF lovers her's so its not a issue) where really made?

Who would not want this badass villain (Don't say it ). Thor, Ironman, Hawkeye, black widow, Nike ****** Fury, The Hulk, Cap, Sheld, and the new york police (but then again ever villain seem to put the hurt on the New York Cops) he took them all on. Only a man that did't know what that gun did even hurt him (so that what this does?). Yup, he is a one bad Mofu (ok so he lost at the end but still). I'm standing my ground on this one and will keep his PO canceled.

oh and all he had was a stick and a mouth. Ya, that is a God for you! I need a hug, Loki's my hero

So, everything HT produces will be produced forever, in perpetuity and without end...? Good to know. Maybe eventually I will pick up Batman and Catwoman.

I never buy with a plan to resell, and so I dont give a fig for other people's resale values. I want Loki and Thor because I want them, not to resell later and try to make a "killing" - which almost never happens, but just saying.

Maybe they will who knows. You have to look at it from their stand point. If something has not been made yet, to add more to the end number is very easy. To add after its been closed out, no I would not think they would tool up again for it.

Same here now. Years ago yes but I was a dealer/wholesaler its how I used to make money. Now I just buy what I want. I do put a price on everything just to keep some people at bay and leave me alone. But once in a great blue moon. Someone does say ok. I just say Oh Bloody Hell! Its happen twice to me.


I like the idea of SSC and HT taking time in putting thing out. I have to say I don't like to really wait but. Everything aside. I really wanted Loki but he does not have armor, or a mask/helmet. I just did not see spending $250 on his little helmet. If I find someone selling a 1/1 (Seen the hero, nice but like any prop like that it was top heavy). I will buy it.

I'm the same way. I buy things because I like them not because I see a substantial dollar value down the road.

yeah tell me about it...I got my Mark V last October and sold him this past January as I wanted to get TFA Cap to increase diversity of my collection...and ultimately took a $35-40 hit when I sold it on ebay

This does not really make much sense. If LOKI is selling and indeed selling very well, so much so that they secure a complete second run of the character before even one has shipped to a customer, why would they even need to produce 'back door' models en mass?

There would be some models of course that will never be a part of the official run, they will go to reps, members of the Board-of-Directors and their families and so on.

But to do it in the way you describe is business madness and so ludicrous. Why would any company officially produce their own line of items and sell them at a price, but then produce more of the same but ship these 'grey' pieces out the 'back door' onto the market, and so undercut their own profit margins?

Yeah, count me in as one of those who only buy what they really like/want and reselling doesn't even enter my head unless it has too.

One little niggle I still have with this is the cloths seem a tad tight across the old chest area. It's such a shame HT don't have a thinner body for characters such as this, as Hiddleston is far thinner then this figure, and sadly that really shows in how the drapery looks/hangs.

If I get this one, I'd have to see If I could do some kind of swop/mod to bring the bulk of the chest area down a tad.

I thought I'd be able to collect what I wanted, which was the occasional figure but I found that rather than money room became the issue. So far I've traded in my Mech Test Tony for the Mark I (2.0) and Black Widow (IM2) for Red Skull.

I'm gonna have to buy a whole new Detolf for the Avengers, Amazing Spider-Man and X-Men. My nearest IKEA is miles away though.

I thought I'd be able to collect what I wanted, which was the occasional figure but I found that rather than money room became the issue. So far I've traded in my Mech Test Tony for the Mark I (2.0) and Black Widow (IM2) for Red Skull.

I'm gonna have to buy a whole new Detolf for the Avengers, Amazing Spider-Man and X-Men. My nearest IKEA is miles away though.

And those Detolfs are heavy as all hell!
I bought three last week, and i struggled to load them in the car!

Yeah I know! I even have a smaller car now so I don't know if it'll fit in. I would get them delivered but no way am I paying almost the same for the delivery as I do for the detolf.
