Hi guys! I just bought this figure. Just wanted to ask if this really came with white minor scratches/damage on the chest armor? How come on the promo pictures there were no damage on the chest? Does the war machine mark 2 have damage too or not?

There are minor scratches all over the figure to give it a worn look. The War Machine die cast figure does not have this.

Not the best picture but if you look along the edges if the chest armor you can see the minor wear/scratches. It's like this all over the figure where metal might scrape if the suit was worn in real life.

Thanks Royce for answering my question. Much appreciated! The promo pictures of this didn't have any minor scratches on the edges. I would have preferred it without the scratches. I find it weird that it's like in between of a clean suit and battle damage.

Much better picture from OMG where you can see the scuffs on the chest as well as the shoulders, abs, hips and thighs.

I've seen this on other iron man figures before. I don't have it anymore but I believe the Avengers Mark 7 suit had these types of scuffs on it even when you display him with the clean, non-battle damaged pieces.

I agree. My wife actually pointed them out to me thinking they were defects. Having owned man of the different marks I quickly corrected her. I think they probably did this with Iron Patriot to make it look less toyish. War Machine Mkii has a mush more dull and machine like color scheme already and likely would have not benefited from such weathered details.

Yes I agree that War Machine needed those details....... it makes the figure look much better, there is a thread on here by some member who customizes War Machine and it looks way better imo

I really do like the look of this figure and hope to get it one day. From all of the reviews I've seen and read about the die-cast figures, and having been a die-cast fan since G1 Transformers and Voltron, I can only imagine how much it brings the awesome level up on this figure.

I also strongly feel that Hot Toys at this point should already inform us customers and loyalists if they will expand and continue their diecast line beyond Iron Whiplash 2. It's a shame that they can still fully sell out Iron Men made from plastic material at the $285 to 300 range because they will have no incentive financially to make products made from diecast at the same range of $285 to 310. I personally don't care about the opinions of diecast haters who are obviously biased because they have already heavily invested on their plastic line from the beginning. I personally would prefer to get diecast material for the same amount I will be paying. At the end of the day, a plastic is still a plastic. I would prefer diecast.

I see your point, but I don't feel they are obligated to inform us of future iron man diecast figures any time soon. They still have multiple unreleased diecast figures spanning into next year, and have only recently released their first three diecasts all of which are iron man. Your right about hot toys likely sticking with plastic over diecast if they can sell it at the same $285-$310 price range. That won't be the case though with your average marvel characters that get mass produced, as opposed to a more selective character like the bones suit which will undoubtedly have a lower production number and therefor higher price.

It seems like you prefer die cast just as I do, but I will still gladly buy a plastic figure if it's my only option. Diecast is great with these iron man figures, but switching exclusively to diecast is a bad idea IMO, and unrealistic. The plastic figures look just fine displayed with the diecast figures. New diecast releases likely will depend on how well the 42 and IP do. I would not dismiss someones opinion just because they like plastic/hate diecast and then suggest its because they are clinging to their commitment to plastic figures.
